And I also ordered two real paper YA books from amazon for my 14 year old which I think she might like, they will broaden her horizons I hope from vampires. We had a good look together through Amazon and she wrote a list of books she is interested in.
Which ones did you buy for her? I just love YA books

Definitely! I have some books to load onto the shelves but once I've done that I'll post some updated pics.
Great

Hello Emma, to the forum.

I finished Dark Parties by Sara Grant last night and started The forest of hands and teeth by Carrie Ryan this morning.

Your BF is a keeper Hold on tight to him! I can't wait to see what you think of The Slap by Tsiolkas, it was on my wishlist for so long and then I finally bought it for myself but have been too busy with life and other books to actually get to reading it. I hope it's good
Hey Frankie, how are you? You're right, he's definately a keeper and the good thing is, he buys even more books for himself than I buy for myself and he likes to get one (or two, or three) for me too when he's out bookshopping
I got The Slap at Waterstone's because I've read about it on the forum and they had a sticker on it, that said if you spent over 20 pounds, you get this book for only 0,99. I just couldn't resist I might take me a while to start reading it, as it's not high up my priority list.

I got a few new books this past week:
from lovely bf:
Carrie Ryan > The forest of hands and teeth
These are a mix of selfbought books and ones that I bought with birthday gift vouchers ( and I still have some left ):
Kelley Armstrong > Schattenstunde (The Summoning)
Maggie Stiefvater > Forever
Sara Grant > Neva (Dark Parties)
Jenny-Mai Nuyen > Rabenmond
Jenny-Mai Nuyen > Feenlicht
Patricia Briggs > Cry Wolf
Patricia Briggs > Hunting Ground
-
I voted for Misery which is such an amazing book. Can't vote for anything else, as I hated the other Stephen King books that I've read (Shining, Carrie, Green Mile)

I put up my new bookcase on the weekend and I've start shuffling all my books along to make way for the new books I'm expecting over the next couple of weeks. My library now has bookcases going around all three walls and will look quite nice once I've tidied it up some.
Will you post photos in the "show your bookshelf"-thread?

I have started reading Katie Fforde 'Restoring Grace', seems quite good so far.
I've read this a couple of years ago and really liked it.
I started Maggie Stiefvaters 'Forever' last night, the final book in her Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy, bit choppy at the moment but I'll get an early night tonight and make a decent effort to get into it.
I just got this yesterday from amazon, the hardback is so beautiful, just like the other two

has everybody herre finished watching season 6?
Oh my, what an ending. I don't know if I like that ...
Will there be a season 7 or is this the final ending of the show?

Do try the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia briggs, they're really good. I've read the first three so far and just love them. I also have the spin off (Alpha & Omega) on it's way, should arrive by the end of the week

Hey Zippy, to the forum. I'm also a big fan of paranormal fantasy books and I'm sure you're going to get lots of good recommendations in this forum.

to the forum Imma, you're gonna find lots of recommendations for good fantasy books here.

It was more that those who liked the Sookie books were disappointed by them. I may try them one day but for now I really don't need any more books!
The Harper books are nothing like the Sookie books, so if they expected something alike there could have been disappointment, I can understand that. So read the Harper books without Sookie in mind

I've started The book of Ember this morning.
-
You definately need to read the other two books, they're really great. The second book is the best though, it sets free quite a few emotions.
-
I would second the recommendation to read the Harper Connelly series
-
I made a huge dent in my Harry Potter 4 yesterday evening, I'm past page 500 now.
