  1. I love them as well, and have read them several times. I really do hope they think about making them into a film, that would be wonderful if they did them well. I was meaning to get my hands on 'Heroes of the Valley' by Jonathan at some point, and still haven't got around to reading it yet. Ohh a prequel sounds good, I wonder what that would entail. Got me quite excited now.
  2. Thanks, and no problem, I'm sure you'll love it Mac.
  3. I'm hoping that's from my review? Glad you're interested, it's certainly an enthralling read.
  4. Finished 9987 by Nik Jones a little over an hour ago. It was a chillingly wrote novel but I loved it. Was very impressed for my first review book. Review. Continuing with The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters again now.
  5. This was weird. I received an email off a friend who I haven't seen for a while, just yesterday. He sends me regular emails of recommendations that he's just read, or he's seen around. New releases and whatnot. It's great because I really trust his judgement and he hasn't been wrong yet. And low and behold he recommended the very same trilogy as you did Roxi. So it looks like with two trusted recommendations, I'll be looking around for these books.
  6. Same. My TBR is an actual list of books that I already have, that haven't already been read. Separately I don't actually have a wishlist - well I do but it's not one written down as such, it's a wishlist of books that if I really want, I'll remember in my head.
  7. 'Across the walls the neon runs in vertical strips every metre or so and in between the neon strips are huge display cases, wall mounted and protected by black wire meshing.' 9987. - Nik Jones.
  8. If never really had much luck with website layouts and things like that, it just goes straight over my head - I've only just started blogging again. However I imagine having a proper website makes it feel a lot different than to say, having all the information on a wordpress blog or something along those lines. But yes, you seem to do a great job with it all, so well done you.
  9. That's interesting seen as though I was considering watching it just the other day, then decided against it. May reconsider now..
  10. Nice little review there Paula. Glad you seemed to enjoy Marked - noticed a few people like it on here now.
  11. I've only read Marked, Betrayed and Chosen at the moment, but next time I'm in town - baring in mind I don't know when that will be - I'm sure I'll get my hands on the next instalments.
  12. Same as the majority of people then. The synopsis / blurb is definitely a major fact when deciding whether you want to read a novel. If it disappoints me I will be sure to not pick the novel up.
  13. Just want to say, although I don't watch Strictly Come Dancing very much, if I were to start watching the series, chesilbeach's Strictly blog is fantastically well done. Provides some good information.
  14. Covers are certainly important for me when it comes to choosing a book - because ultimately the cover is what makes a book capture my attention. Without a good, stand-out cover, books will not get noticed in the stores unless they are from authors who you already know and trust - or not trust even. So yes, covers can be important, at least for me.
  15. Welcome to the forum Laura.
  16. Good review of Betrayed and I'm glad you're still liking the world of The House Of Night.

  19. Can't you just get your parents to sell them for you and give you the money?

    Thank you!

    Hey welcome to the forum.
  21. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  22. I've got it on TBR and heard some great things. Been sorely tempted a number of times.
  23. "The queens face is splattered with blood." 9987. - Nik Jones.
  24. Today my first ever review book arrived in the post. It certainly looks like something I'm going to enjoy, and caught my eye with a fantastic cover as I brought it out of the packaging. A little comment in the front page saying 'Thank you for volunteering your time, hope it's worth it,' and signed, was an added bonus. Anyway I'm putting The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters on hold to read this book and get my thoughts back as quick as possible. 9987 by Nik Jones. The shop is everything to him - always neat and tidy, safe and reliable, the rental DVDs carefully categorised, alphabetised and memorised. He thinks he knows his customers, until the bloodstains begin to appear - on grubby banknotes, on porn DVDs and on the shops fresh new carpet. Then the girl comes into his life, green eyes and fresh scarlet slashed between her thin cotton blouse. He wants to rescue and protect her. He wants to be with her. Forever. Looks good.
  25. My reading has certainly branched out since I joined BCF. It's unsurprising really the amount of recommendations and whatnot, there's bound to be something different for everyone.
