  1. I love the Women's Murder Club series too, I think I have read the first five and have books 6 and 7 on my bookshelf. Although I do think it is a bit strange that James Patterson doesn't do most of the writing himself as each book has a sort of co-writer - I'm not really sure how it works as the books do all have the same sort of flow and style to them but the co-writer is not the same for them all:shrug:
  2. I finished Dead Until Dark last night in bed - couldn't go to sleep until i finished it because i was so close to the end! Am going to start Living Dead in Dallas when i go for my lunch break today - hopefully in about half an hour
  3. I bought I'm watching you by her a couple of weeks ago but haven't read it yet - looking forward to it now that you've all been saying good stuff about her work
  4. I'd been waiting for the vampire for years when he walked into the bar. Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris
  5. Have finished Twenties Girl and I throughly enjoyed it! The characters grew on me as I got further through the book and although it is a bit far fetched I still really like her style of writing and it was just so easy to read. Hope you're enjoying it chesilbeach!
  6. I'm about a third of the way through Twenties Girl and it's just starting to get good, although I have to admit that as of yet I'm not liking this one as much as some of her others but I'll try not to judge it until the end.
  7. Me too! The trailer looks very good, i loved the book
  8. The thing about lying to your parents is, you have to do it to protect them. Twenties Girl ~ Sophie Kinsella
  9. I'm 26 now but last year when I was 25 I pulled up in my car to get my dad's lottery tickets and was refused! I even pointed out to the woman that I had just got out of my car but she still said no, so I was 9 years older than the legal age to play and I was refused, was quite strange, but I found it funny in a complimentry kind of way
  10. Ha ha, good point Michelle! I do that all the time to be honest - borrow books from the library but then don't get round to starting them or just don't like them so never finish them But if she has read them all that is very impressive! She can't possibly remember what happens in them all though!
  11. Yeah I loved the goosebumps books too! I watched the TV series as well but I didn't think it was as good as the books. I don't remember any book specifically but I do remember being scared in bed at night after reading them
  12. Read them and loved them, i've also passed the Twilight bug onto my friend and my sister
  13. Glad to hear you enjoyed The Host! I'm really struggling with it and seem to be avoiding reading it but I'm going to keep trying as I'm not very far in yet, maybe only 80 pages or so
  14. I watched the first episode last night. I thought it was ok and will keep watching it as I usually don't get hooked with the first episode of many things. I haven't read the books yet but am in the bookring for them so I'm looking forward to receiving them
  15. I have a book out from the library at the moment that has half a page ripped out! I was very shocked when I saw it, only a few pages in. Although it was the end of a chapter and there were no words on that section of the page or on the next side I still thought it was very rude I hope the librarian doesn't blame me for it when I go to return it
  16. Hello and welcome, I hope you enjoy the forum
  17. I have this waiting on my bookshelf but I keep on passing by it everytime I need a new book for some reason. Let me know what you think of it as I will have to try to make a start on it soon, I've had it for months now
  18. Yep, I liked Triptych, it was different from her 'usual' series of books - set in a different place with different characters so could easily be read without having read any of her others. It was a little bit gorey in places but not too much if your used to reading crime/thriller type books I think overall I would have given it 9.5/10, it kept me hooked until the very end and I didn't have a clue what was going to happen in the end. I hope you enjoy it Ben
  19. Finished reading Genesis last night and really enjoyed it, I liked the way she combined the Grant County series with her Will Trent series. The only thing now is I'm going to have to wait ages until her next new book comes out! She's going on a book tour in America to promote the book over there, but it is called Undone instead of Genesis, I don't understand why they do that but never mind. I wish she would come and do some promotion work in the UK too at some point....
  20. Yeah Fractured is really good, I think you'll really like it Lexie, I know I did. But I think all her books are really good, except for Martin Misunderstood - I didn't like that one it just wasn't her usual style of writing and seemed like a pointless story to me anyway.
  21. Has anybody got the new Karin Slaughter book, Genesis? I put myself on the library waiting list ages ago when I heard it was coming out and I went to collect it yesterday! Haven't started it yet but am quite excited, I love her, she is my favourite author
  22. I read the Lion's Gate while I was on holiday and really loved it, I just couldn't put it down. I will have to keep an eye out for some of his other books, have had a quick look on amazon and the ones that stand out for me are Plum Island and Cathedral.
  23. Hi Inver, thanks for the sunny greeting the other day! How are you? I'm going through some post-holiday blues - back to work after two glorious weeks in sunny Cuba, sad times!

  24. I just got back from holiday and I read Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer, The Lion's Game by Nelson DeMille and This Charming Man by Marian Keyes all very good but all different from each other. Was a bit disappointed as my Marian Keyes book was brand new from Tesco but about 6 or 7 pages decided to fall out randomly one day on the beach! Luckily I managed to keep them all safe and have tried to put it back together so my Mum can read it.
