  1. I love scrapbooking and I have been thinking I might have a go at making my own! Makes a change from the usual receipt, leaflet or post it note!
  2. I am on holiday at the moment (perks of the job) and I really feel like having a whole day reading. However my mum is visiting and I can't really do that but I have the urge so much lol!
  3. It has been so long I have completely lost track of which film is due next etc!
  4. Ooh haven't heard of that Henry VIII one before, that has now been added to my wishlist!
  5. Good idea, I wish I had started doing that sooner!
  6. When at school I read Measure for Measure and Midsummer Nights Dream and really enjoyed them. In the past year I set myself the personal challenge of reading some more Shakespeare but I got as far as getting copies of the major plays from The Book People but so far haven't managed any. 2009 will be my year to change this!
  7. I can't decide! Mind you I can barely remember what I have read;)
  8. Started last night Things I Want My Daughters To Know by Elizabeth Noble. Seems good so far, I read 'The Reading Group' a few years ago because of the subject matter (!) and thought I should try others of hers as well.
  9. 999 challenge musings- I have been looking at LibraryThing and am thinking of joining the 999 challenge so here is where I am just noting down some ideas for categories. -Books from my TBR mountain (been on the shelves for more than a year) -Children's books (for my job) - Challenge books (books for challenges I am taking part in) - Reading around the world (a way to broaden my reading horizons) -Non-fiction - Crime, Thriller and Mystery - Classics - Recommendations (Books recommended to me online and from friends) - Fabulous Modern Fiction Provisional List- I may change! Potential Category- Books I have bought in 2009 New to me authors 9 books older than me 9 books younger than me I am worried that the modern fiction one is too broad and a bit like cheating:)

  11. This Christmas I got my books courtesy of my mother in laws book vouchers. She knows me well!
  12. I read A Christmas Carol with my class this past month so off to look for the discussions, this is the only Dickens I have read.
  13. I keep picking this up and then putting it down again, reading the reviews here hasn't helped my decision!
  14. I started reading this earlier in the month so must get back to it, thanks for the review.
  15. lol, glad to have a fellow comrade there! Maybe we should egg each other on!
  16. I did ok this year but not as brilliantly as previous years. And as normal I have not kep a proper record of what I have read so have forgotten half of what I read this year. I get so annoyed with myself!
  17. What a great idea to bring this thread back to the surface! I haven't read the Stephen King yet, was waiting for it to come out in paperback:)
  18. My cousin lent me this years and years ago but I never did get round to reading this. I wonder if I still have it somewhere?
  19. I have never read anything by Harlan Coben but your reviews have tempted me!
  20. I bet it did! I have never really thought of authors doing that kind of thing, apart from the ones invited to forums and blogs.
