Yes that's it exactly! Sometimes I am left feeling like 'oh I wish my life was different!' but then pick up a new book and get absorbed in the new life!
It depends on my mood! Sometimes I go with a few books in mind but most of the time I wander around aimlessly and pick up books catch my eye. However my local library is tiny, plus I can get rarely get there when it is open so I don't use it as much as I could.
lol I have to admit to doing that too but only with my own books. As for bacon rind, eurgh!
I have bought a few bookmarks over the years but always lose them so usually just use post it notes, scraps of paper etc.
Yes, thought it was just me!
I hope you enjoy To Kill a Mockingbird, I read it for the first time recently and was engrossed with it. I haven't read Of Mice and Men so you have inspired me to read it!
I have tried to in the past but keep failing to record them so haven't a clue what and how many books I have read! Would love to have the discipline though.
I mostly read at night as I don't get much opportunity during the day. At lunch I try and get some marking done so i can read a bit more at night lol! However if I am reading a particularly good book I read at lunch. I also sneak in some class reading time with the kids, we are reading Skulduggery Pleasant at the moment and although I have read it before I am enjoying reading it again:) I also read them a lot of picture books and poems, I believe they are never too old for picture books!
I too have lost a few over the years. Now I only lend out very occasionally and only if I know I won't be too disappointed if the book doesn't come back. But my number is nowhere near 132!
I have been hearing a lot about this author recently and want to branch out into different genres of writing. Does anyone have any suggestions with what I should start with?
I get NewBooksMag and occasionally the BBC Food one (although I rarely cook the recipes lol) but my main magazines are Junior Education and Literacy Times for my job.
I too also used to always try and finish every book I started but found it caused me to have a reading slump so now I either skim read it or put it down with a view to trying again later:) Not that that always happens!
