  1. Yesterday was my birthday so I went to Foyle's in Charing Cross Road and bought myself two teaching books and a collection of short stories called 'The Apocalypse Reader'. I could quite easily have bought many more books!
  2. It is really interesting to read this, I read Nineteen Minutes last year and enjoyed it and have just started Kevin but struggling to get into it and am thinking of putting it aside for a while.
  3. I think my reading quirk is that I have none! The only one I can kind of relate to is the peeling the 3 for 2 sticker off or the like but that is only because I do it subconsciously while I read and fiddle!
  4. In all seriousness I love this thread because I have so many books on my TBR shelves that I have got but just don't fancy any more! I felt incredibly guilty about them but after reading your posts I can see I am not alone.
  5. I enjoyed it too! Anything that gets the kids fired up gets me fired up! The fact that it generated so much discussion was really good as well and I can see the potential for so much cross curricular work.
  6. I have now finished The Garden of Empress Cassia by Gabriella Wang. This book I am reading with the children in my class and they seem to be really enjoying it.
  7. lol I see! Each to their own:)
  8. The TBR pile is not a list it is just the books I own that are on my bookshelf, unread.
  9. Yes TBR stands for To Be Read, I have a bit of a book acquiring habit. And I don't blame you for just keeping a list of the books you read. Happy revision!
  10. Good luck with your revision! What subjects will you be revising for?
  11. Go ahead and rant lol! I do challenges purely because it gets me reading things on my TBR pile andd gets me moving away from my safe and normal reading choices. The challenges I chose are books I want to read anyway so it feels a little like cheating
  12. Didn't even manage to get to bed to finish, just finished it now on the sofa!
  13. In bed tonight I will be finishing Vanish by Tess Gerritsen, really enjoyed it annd haven't been able to put it down!
  14. I hope it does! Some of it people could argue is just common sense but the way he puts it across it makes it seem very simple. I got it after watching the series shown on living TV or one of those channels and it seemed very7 successful on there.
  15. Have now finished the Paul McKenna- a nice quick read!
  16. Last night I finished Agatha Raisin and the Vicious Vet. I then started reading Paul McKenna 'I can make you thin' because I was intrigued by it!
  17. Michelle that is something that I was wondering myself, why it unsettled me. I have never really had this before with other books so perhaps it is just this one. Mind you something is flickering in my brain about a book I have read in the past that was quite ambiguous about time but cannot remember what it was! I would be interested to hear what others say about this.
  18. I love scrapbooking. I have tried things like cross stitch but although I enjoy it I have never finished a project!
  19. I am so jealous! It is my birthday this month but my OH has already got me my present so I can't drop subtle hints!
  20. I have read a few and really enjoyed them but I have completely lost track of which ones I have read and even reading the blurb on the back doesn't help! Maybe that doesn't say much for the books!
  21. I enjoyed it too but as others have said found it difficult to settle into it because of the issues of time.
  22. Oh my goodness!!
