Thanks for the comment ladymacbeth! The great thing about the book is that it gives you only a few things to think about, I think the main aim is to discover things for yourself. And I agree about the science thing! The trouble I have is I want to read and learn about so many different things that there is not the time in the day!

My Moleskin arrived and it is lovely! I am definitely a happy bunny:)

Of course!
This book here:) It talks you through reading some classics, gives you some background notes and tips for getting the best out of the books you read. If that makes sense!
-
Haha I'll better watch out then. But that's the one I want the most I think, it's just so pretty! I still have a little while to decide so let me know when you get yours how you like it!
Will do!

Has anyone worked through this book? I thought it would be a great way to read some of the classics I still have to read!
-
I have no idea... I am interested to see what other people have to say as well!
Snap! What a great question!

I have mooched one of his from Bookmooch after reading this thread so thanks! I will let you know how I get on!

So I actually found a way to buy one of these from Sweden and now comes the tricky part, I have to pick one!
Any recommendations? I'm choosing between these once:
I saw some of you had these, do you like them? Please help!
You naughty person, I just got myself the Moleskin one! I will blame you when Mr Nook raises his eyebrows at me

I finished Looking for Alaska by John Green which was a great read.
I went shopping and returned with-
The Time Traveller's Guide to Medieval England by Ian Mortimer
Room by Emma Donoghue
The Small Hand by Susan Hill. I have to admit with this one I was seduced by the cover.

Ummmm...I did terribly at this. Blush.

I have just finished the second book and keep going to click on one click on Amazon for the next one! As a result I have read nothing but the first post on this thread to keep clear of spoilers I hope to join fully soon!

Hey guys! Been reading this forum for quite a while and finally plucked up the courage to start posting!
Anyway, after recently leaving uni with a History Degree, I've landed myself a job with the local council as a relief library assistant, there aren't any guaranteed hours but it's a step on the ladder, plus I've been informed that the reliefs in my area tend to get quite a bit of work. I'm so happy about this after being turned down for numerous library positions, just shows that if you persist then something will come your way eventually.
Sounds great! I am in a wonderful school where I am now in charge of the library woohoo! I am also literacy coordinator so books are strangely becoming more and more part of my life! I love sharing books with the children if I could do just that all day I would be very happy.

Ooh all these lovely ideas! I still find it hard to record books purchased and books read. No organisation me!

Thanks all! Still got a smile on my face:)

Thank you, I feel like a weight has been lifted off me, I can be me again. Does that sound weird! I am glad people have enjoyed the thread, I have loved reading through it time and again.

Hi The Library Nook,
How are you?
I love reading because I lose myself in what I am reading and I get a lot of pleasure from reading, I can't remember a time when I did not read.
Hi I am good! Well not good because I don't seem to have a life at the moment but good as in I have my health:)
Thanks for the reply!

The first time I read Wuthering Heights I would have agreed with you totally! I couldn't even get past the first few chapters I think. Then a few years later I tried it again and loved it! How strange! I wonder what I would think if I read it now?
