  3. Happy birthday!!

  4. Napoleon Dynamite. Well, I'm trying to, but BF won't stop talking about a car he wants to buy.
  5. Neverwhere is one of my favorites! I highly recommend it, plus anything else by Neil Gaiman (especially American Gods).
  6. That's one of my favorite books! I've read it at least four times. It's wonderfully creepy, but I don't find it to be too scary. I love scary, creepy books, so none of them scare me too much. I think the book that disturbed me the most was Monster by Jonathan Kellerman. I had a lot of sleepless nights after reading that one.
  7. If you are interested in memoirs, another great one is The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama. In it, he reveals a lot about his personal experiences and his political ideology. In addition to Clinton's memoir, another Clinton book, Giving, is another good read. It's not necessarily left-wing, but it focuses on philanthropy and how people, governments, and non-governmental organizations can help people around the world.
  8. Another good author is Emile Zola. I've only read one of his books, Germinal, but it's one of my favorites.
  9. 1. Age (<18, 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55+) 25-34 (30) 2. Gender Female 3. What do you read on a daily basis? (blogs, newspapers, books, etc.) Blogs, online news articles, magazines, manga/comics 4. How often do you read for fun in a week? Every day 5. What time of day do you like to read? Any time! But I mostly read books at night before I go to sleep. 6. Where do you read? If I'm settling down to read a book, I usually sit on the couch with a drink near me, or lay in bed. 7. How many books have you read in the last 6 months? I haven't kept track, but probably around 5 or 6. 8. What type/genre do you enjoy reading most? Fiction, especially horror/suspense, magical realism, fantasy, and classics. 9. Why do you read? (entertainment, relaxation, learning, etc.) All of the above! But especially for relaxation and learning. 10. What barriers prevent you from reading more? I suffer from depression, which affects my motivation and concentration. Also, I'm in school, which takes up a lot of my time. 11. Do you think reading for fun is important? Both! Reading is much more stimulating than watching TV. It involves a person's imagination, their level of comprehension, and can introduce people to new ideas. 12. Do you fold page corners or use a bookmark? I always use a bookmark! I used to fold the page corners, but I can't bring myself to do that anymore. 13. Do you prefer to read to music or in silence? It depends on the kind of music, but usually in silence. 14. Do you discuss books with your friends? Yes! I have so many friends here on BCF with whom I love discussing books! I also have other friends and family members who like discussing books with me. 15. Do you borrow books from the library? No. I should, though. 16. Do you borrow/loan books from/to friends? Yes. I exchange books a lot with my older brother. He's always urging me to read books that he's enjoyed since we like a lot of the same kind of books. Thank you very much! You're welcome!
  10. There are so many, but the classics win out for me. Here are my favorites: Jane Eyre...Mr. Rochester is so passionate! He makes me sigh. Persuasion...Besides being my favorite Austen, I love the suspense of the love story, the way everything seems to point toward Anne's disappointment for so long, and then...well, I don't want to spoil it. Northanger Abbey...Mr. Tilney is maybe my favorite Austen hero. He's the kind of guy I would totally fall for. David Cooperfield...Three distinct love stories.
  11. An episode of Inspector Lewis. I missed it last night, so I'm watching now On Demand.
  12. I love notebooks! I always find my eyes lingering on even the most basic spiral notebook at the grocery store. I would buy each one I saw if I could.
  13. One that's been on my wish list for a while is A Delusion of Satan: The Full Story of the Salem Witch Trials by Frances Hill.
  14. One more day until school starts!

No points for me...I have no idea what that is! It's actually Madame Red from the Black Butler manga.

Yeah, my university goes back way too early since we're on semesters. We start a month before a lot of other colleges. :(

  15. So, I take it you're not planning on involving yourself in our forum anymore. Well, don't expect much help, in that case. Especially in the form of a recommendation to another forum. We're not here to do your research for you.
  16. I don't know if I could list them all. I'm a big re-reader, and I re-read books about as often as I read new ones.
  17. The one from Wuthering Heights that I always dread is when Obviously, a lot of us think that Wuthering Heights is the greatest love story ever!
  18. I sometimes have this problem. When I first read A Wild Sheep Chase by Haruki Murakami, not only was I unable to review it for my blog, I was terrified to read another Murakami book. But I'm glad I did, I've read 3 more since then and I have another waiting for me on my bookshelf.

Well, we've got two broken cars, no money, and my financial aid still hasn't gone through (even though tuition is due on Monday). Yuk. But, I have a fun semester coming up, so I'm still excited. :)
