I haven't read it, but I'm quite intrigued by it too. I first noticed it when I searched for The Perks of Being A Wallflower on Amazon (it was listed a couple of books down). I guess it's yet another one to add to my TBR stack!

^I'll give you a quick reminder! Atonement was one of my best reads of 2007. I just loved everything about it - the style of writing, the characters, the storyline, and the ending. It's definitely one of my most memorable reads, and one I would recommend.

I'll second Richard Montanari, since you like crime novels. He got me interested in the genre again, since I'd gone off it for years. How about some true crime books? Helter Skelter is an excellent read, as are books by John Douglas (he created the FBIs criminal profiling tool).

^I'm about 150 pages in, and it's really picking up. It's a great read, and I've gotten used to the obscure references. I can see why it is compared to The Secret History by Donna Tartt; it has the same sort of 'feel' to it.

I would recommend The Stand, and IT. Or for something a bit shorter: Rose Madder or Insommnia. Those are my picks. I've seen Rose Red; I don't remember too much about it, but I wasn't overly impressed. It's based on a book called The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer by Ellen Rimbauer. Not entirely sure what Stephen King's involvement was though.

Currently reading Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl. It clocks in at 514 pages of tiny, tiny writing. :thud:It's a bit too dense at the moment; it would be a lot better without the waffle and constant obscure references that don't really add much to the story.

Wha? I think you mean Fireball; I haven't posted on this thread yet. I wouldn't say I get obsessed with an author; I like to read up on them if they interest me, and buy a lot of their books, but that's about it.
