I have just read the heroes raphic novel and can recommend it is excellent

I thought i would start a new thread asking for suggestions for books that will help to get our Mojo back I am reading Shanghai Baby by Wei Hui Which i am enjoying as it is short and snappy

I better get my read on as i have 6 books to finish by the end of the year to do my 52 a year!!!

I have lost my reading mojo a bit recently. I have not been on hear for a while aswell as i have been trying to finish making presents for people too. Nothing i tried to read interested me and when i read a book it took me ages but i am getting it back slowly

To be honest i just dip into them and read a few every year. I enjoyed: The pit and the pendulum The black cat The fall of the house of usher The gold bug I enjoy them all i love his use of language but i do have to concentrate a bit to really enjoy so i love reading a few a year on halloween!!

Feeling much better but a day in bed with a book helps

so far i have read 45 and i like to read at least 52 per year so i am well on my way!!!! But i am back at work and busily making christmas presents so i ill have to try and fit everything in!!

These things jumped out at me too. I found BNW more disturbing as the people there were being controlled and seemed happy to be controlled as in there were no talks of underground movements etc I found 1984 a lot more enjoyable to read and I found BNW more difficult to read and definitely you tell it was wrote earlier due to a lot of the language and how the characters talked I found the destruction of books and literature in both books distressing.

I agree there are some books which i will not read as i have no interest i have read 53 and i have 27 more on my shelves to read or from the library

I have dilemma i have the 1001 Books book and i have read some and wnat to read many more of them and this is my book which i will kepp forever. So in the beginning where the books are listed alphabetically do i highlight the ones i have read or not? I would do it very neatly and use a ruler!!! Help please

I love them i remember them coming out when i was at school we used to love them and my mum used to buy me one whenever we had a book sale at school too

Depends on my mood, whether i get any peace but the oter day i was feeling very sorry for myself as i was coming down with a cold so i stayed in bed and read Relentless in an afternoon

Well i am so glad i joined the library it is saving me a fortune esp. as i can order books nowfor free but not sure if this is a permanent thing so i am really abusing it!!! I have nearly read Relentless today as i not feeling too good spending the day in bed with a good book and the animals has helped.

!n my spare room i have floor to ceiling book shelves down one wal, 3 of them and i love them they are big and solid woodl and the books i am reading and my library books arekept on my bed side chest

I got 1984 out from the library and i am really gripped, i do not know if i am enjoying his style of writing or the fact that i hav always wanted to read this book. I think it will be interesting to see what people think of both of these books and depending on which order you have read them which book you prefer.

What do you read at Halloween or what do you recommend? I always read some of Edgar Allan Poe

I loved The Bloody Chamber and The Magic TOyshop i now have Wise Children and Nights at the circus to read too

I get called Madame DeFarge as i the wrong person to cross and i can sit there innocently knitting whilst plotting my revenge or having my cogs of schemeing whirring around in my brian. Of course i think i they are wrong i am all sweetness and light

Benn a bit sneaky and included Haunted as part of the chunk challenge as it is 495 pages.

Had a good holiday and managed to get though quite a few books and not buy too many!
