I'd probably cry a lot if I watched RSPCA. I'm such a softy. But yes, it's nice to see people being kind to other things. Sometimes I despair for the lack of kindness in the world, so I'm always glad to be proven wrong.
I think you're referring to the Melbourne bushfires of last year. It was really terrible. So many people died and their communities are only just beginning to be rebuilt. There was a lovely photo that was widely published at the time where a firefighter was holding a bottle of water out to a koala. It was really touching.
The size of TCPatW put me off for a while too. That's the great thing about reading books from the Rory list with others. I have already knocked two huge books of my TBR pile so far this year. I'm pretty sure you'll read TCPatW fairly quickly once you get started. It really sucks you in. I can't wait to hear what you think of it!

Hi Frankie,
I'm sorry you've been feeling so poorly. I was getting a bit worried when you hadn't posted in so long (not that I'm stalking you or anything, but I miss you when you're not around! ). I really hope you're doing better now and that the streets have been washed for you.
I don't watch that RSPCA show because it looks so sad when there are trapped or hurt or unhappy animals. I guess they would have happy endings though?

Hi Abby! As you've read by now, yes, I had a great time at the bookfair!
Ooh, I'll keep an eye on the mailbox.
How are you doing? You've had so many big changes in your life lately. Are you all settled into your job now? How have you been going in the last few days since you found out about the diabetes?

I'm going with my book-loving friend. We always go to the Canberra bookfair together, and although I love books more than him, he is perfectly happy to spend hours upon hours at the bookfair with me. I think I'm being a bad influence on him though, because he's starting to buy loads of books like me that he'll be a long time getting around to
And he's interested in seeing the exhibition too. I'm going to kick off my book-buying weekend by heading to my favourite (huge) bookshop in Sydney after work today, where they are having a good sale on a couple of YA books I want.

I know what you mean. Even if I'm the middle of a really great series, I can't read them one after another (with the exception of Harry Potter, for some reason). This is a little frustrating because it means that I'm in the middle of about a dozen series and I never seem to get any closer to finishing any of them!

I don't mind sad romantic movies. I love The Notebook but don't watch it often because it makes me cry too much. Isn't PS I Love You another one by Nicholas Sparks?
I love romcoms like When Harry Met Sally, You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle etc. I love a lot of old movies as well. Today I watched The Greatest Show on Earth and I bought The Grapes of Wrath the other day which I can't wait to watch (I read the book last year).
