  1. Very interesting Talisman, thanks for posting that. I might consider not using Amazon if they are throwing their weight around. I don't like it when businesses use strong market share to squeeze their suppliers or competitors unfairly, which is why I have a dislike of Tesco, walkers crisps, microsoft et al.
  2. Welcome
  3. I'm not sure. My allergy started off in my scalp but also spread to my torso later. It also manifested itself as generalised itching with the act of scratching producing the rash so the exact correlation may be difficult to spot. Additionally I have cut seeds out of my diet but the problem hasn't gone away, and is merely under control with tablets. However if I eat seeds it flares right up. How the whole allergy thing works is a mystery to me.
  4. You mean you feel empty in the stomach rather than wanting to eat something? I get like that. I had a ham and pickle sandwich.
  5. Lol. Aw I hope it wasn't certain comments on here that upset you. Fwiw I thought you were unnecessarily attacked yesterday.
  6. Chasing Harry Winston sounds terrible ii. I'm amazed you managed to finish it.
  7. I've been breaking out in pressure rashes lately, red welts wherever pressure has been exerted, caused by anything from tight clothing to scratching. I believe the underlying cause to be a seed allergy (which we recently started putting in our bread) but have yet to prove this. It's currently being controlled with antihistamine tablets. Has anything in her diet changed recently (over the past few weeks?) or in her general lifestyle? It's a process of elimination. Your best bet would probably be the doctors if it continues to be an issue, or a google search that's how I made my own diagnosis
  8. Egg and chips with runny eggs to dip the chips in
  9. But some things date worse than others don't they.
  10. Lol. This stuff doesn't seem popular at all does it? Perhaps it is just too old fashioned.
  11. Fair enough. Hats off to you for trying it if its outside of your world view. Personally I dislike the man. He seems as fundamentalist and evangelical in his atheism as the religious people he attacks.
  12. But have you read it?
  13. Many happy returns Icecream. Hope you have a lovely day :)

  14. I had to search previous posts in this thread to remember her name. Her indecisiveness and negativity were what really stuck out for me.
  15. I was surprised he didn't give it to Claire. I think it came down to personality in the end. He wasn't sure he would get on with her. I enjoyed the final program. I thought the losing teams advert was really good. I'm glad Helene didn't win though. I thought she was a right pain in the bum!
  16. I agree, some of the stories are predictable, but also the characters in The White Seal and Rikki Tikki Tavi were less interesting than those in the Mowgli stories. I am finding the stories a little childish. Some children's stories are interesting for adults too, but these, well, not so much. I mean, I don't hate them, or think they are particularly terrible, they just don't float my boat.
  17. I'm struggling too I think I'm going to persevere to the end of the first book and then put it down, either temporarily or permanently. The stories are getting dull now. I did not enjoy The White Seal or Rikki Tikki Tavi, however I did enjoy the one with Kaa the snake.
  18. Hehe I can't wait for this
  19. I thought it would be too low brow for you
  20. Hi Michelle just wanted to pop in with a friendly note of encouragement. I'm sorry the forum has been stressful for you lately, but I am sure the majority of us know where you are coming from. At the end of the day it's your forum and it's up to you how to run it. People should like it or lump it or find somewhere else to go.

  21. Hi and welcome. I am another slow reader. I just can't keep up with this lot

    Hello

Hi nice to meet you. What books/authors do you like? By the way there is a thread about The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox in the reading circle area.
  23. What do you mean by mature themes and controversy? They are somewhat subjective terms. I would recommend Susan Hinton but her books could be said to contain controversial themes I suppose. Cursing occurs but no actual profanity appears in print.
  24. That's surprising. I wouldn't have had you down as a BB fan
