  1. Good stuff. I really enjoyed it.
  2. I found Dracula quite pacey - I also loved Dorian Gray, it's great isn't it.
  3. Happy birthday - have a great day!

  4. Happy birthday :) Hope you're having a nice day.

  5. Hi SFH. You read a good selection of books last year! Lots of books there I would like to read. What did you think of The Virgin Suicides? I have to say I was a little disappointed with it. I loved HP and Deathly Hallows. What did you think?
  6. I'll coming to the end of The Vampire's Seduction soon. I haven't been blown away by it but it was a light easy read. Now I have to decide what to read next. I fancy something spooky but I might start The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I am such a slow reader that at least I'll be sure of getting it finished before May.
  7. usually cereal - often weetabix, or special k sustain or shreddies. My favourite is full english - which is what I had today because I stayed in a hotel last night (I always eat cooked breakfast when I stay in a hotel) I had: bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, beans, mushroom, tomato and hash brown plus orange juice, a small bowl of cereal and some fruit salad. It was fab.
  8. But a poor accent is basically shoddy workmanship - like a wobbly set. I wouldn't expect to see either in a quality film, no matter how far-fetched the subject matter.
  9. mmm - looks yummy
  10. What are stovies? I'm having a quick snack later when I get back from choir - probably toast or soup or something - had a loverly lancashire hot pot for lunch though so that should keep me going.
  11. Nice review - sounds like a good book.
  12. Happy birthday :) hope you had/are having a fab day

  13. Sometimes, although I would never read the intro first - they always contain spoilers. Which is stupid really - they should at least put a warning in them.
  14. We're recording this as OH was keen. Looking forward to it.
  15. I quite agree I think it may have been the last one last time, it's certainly near the end of the series anyway. I'm sure it will be repeated though, and I thoroughly recommend it.
  16. bean burger and oven chips tonight.
  17. Has anybody else been watching this? It's on sky 1 Sunday nights after Lost. I think it's fantastic and I really admire Ross Kemp for dodging bullets on the front line. It's really interesting to see what they are actually doing out there, and to get a glimpse of life in that country and see how the people respond to the troops.
  18. So glad that the hearing went well. Sounds like they are still trying to take the mick but at least you have been vindicated (is that the right word) anyway - hope you are feeling less stressed now, have a great time in Lundy

    :friends0:

  19. Happy birthday for yesterday :) hope the weather was a nice for you as it was this way

  20. Hi and welcome
  21. I just caught up with it tonight on sky plus - I'm glad Matt won, he was great. They were all very good though.
  22. I think a lot of the characters in Catch-22 are interesting. Yosarian makes a good anti-hero
  23. When they're very ripe they have a kind of fumi-ness about them that makes me cough which I can understand could be off-putting. I like 'em though. But does he eat fruitcake?
  24. Half way through The Vampire's Seduction and I'm looking forward to finishing it. It's OK, quite readable and the story is fairly interesting. The characters aren't hugely interesting though and I've picked up on what appear to be a few mistakes or inconsistencies in the story. And I find the whole vampire lore thing a bit stupid I know I know, it's just a book but I need my fiction to make sense - even if it IS fantasy. Not sure if I'll be reading any more of these yet - I'll let you know after I've finished it.
  25. online for new usually, but tend to get tempted by second hand books in charity shops etc
