Started Karma the other night. It's good so far. Very readable and made me laugh out loud in places. I'm not sure if I find the central character a little too self deprecating though (sorry Kerry )
But overall enjoying it.
Hehe I love the picture of the dog. Nice selection of books you have to read there. I have an Ian Rankin on the shelf which I hope to get to soon. I've not read any of his before.
Yup I think tea is my top addiction. Besides that I sometimes get cravings for meat. Once in a while I get a weird craving for sour sweets, and I have to go out and buy some. Starburst sour or fizzy cola bottles or something... I have to stop there ... my mouth is watering
The sermon book is that bad actually. Very heavy but contains some interesting ideas. Perhaps more of a book to reflect on than read if you know what I mean. I think I started Knowing God once, a long time ago. Probably didn't get very far though
Well I did say that after only reading a few chapters. If you read some of my later posts you can see that I began to change my opinion as I read on.
Oh loose leaf tea in a teapot is wonderful. Haven't gone to the trouble for years. Even tea brewed in a pot from teabags tastes better than putting the teabag in the mug. I'm going to get some loose leaf tea and get my teapot out soon.
I know what you mean about the ritual too. It's all very British isn't it. It's great. (Although I'm not sure where you're from Green Fairy, maybe it's not so British to you)
As far as Poe goes, I really enjoyed The oblong box. I remember finding it amusing rather than creepy. I'm not sure if it was meant to be.
The pit and the pendulum is good too, though based on quite unpleasant ideas.
I drink most of my tea in work where they supply us with PG tips.
At home I drink fair trade tea. Normally Tea Direct.
But yep, has to be good old English breakfast tea, none of this fancy nonsense.
Thanks Ice cream. I agree about fantasy too. They are full of such vibrant characters its a wonderful place to escape to. I'm really enjoying Harry Potter at the moment.
If i had to pick a re-read it might be The chronicles of Narnia or The man who was Thursday by G K Chesterton.
If I had to read a book I hadn't read before I would probably go for Harry Potter and the deathly hallows (seeing as I'm reading the half blood prince at the moment.) It would be a shame not to see how it all pans out.
If I had to go for something new (not part of a series I'm part way through then I might go for a shakespeare play that I hadn't read. Perhaps Othello or King Lear.
Well no I didn't get a deadline date. I just had the book 6 weeks today that's all.
I'm sure it would be fine to do it late, but I know I won't likely get another chance any time soon.
