  1. Singing In the Rain ~ Gene Kelly
  2. I guess Noddy was the first Enid Blyton I read ( it was banned here from libraries in the 70's because Noddy and Big Ears slept in the same bed (shock horror, they could have been homosexual!) and the Golliwogs were always the baddies). Later on I loved The Famous Five but wasn't so keen on the Secret Seven (can't remember why now).

    Hello...

Hi Karen, and welcome back from me too I joined in 2006 and I'm sorry, I don't remember a Kudz, but I do remember a Karen, so perhaps that was you? Under Hayley's administration, this is a lovely, friendly group so hope you'll stay.
  4. Walking Back To Happiness ~ Helen Shapiro
  5. Ain't No Sunshine ~ Bill Withers
  6. Hi Suzanne and a big welcome We had a very popular crunchie bar ad here back in the day ... not sure if it was shown in any other country. The Great Crunchie Train Robbery https://youtu.be/cQbXeAycblU
  7. I got the dirtiest looks (I was half expecting to be kicked out) playing The Rockafella Skank by FatBoy Slim on a jukebox in a very redneck-looking bar one time. It was on their jukebox so couldn't see the problem
  8. You Are My Sunshine ~ Pete Seeger
  9. Meanwhile, in the Antipodes ... (although it still feels very summery.) Day in Autumn By Rainer Maria Rilke (translated by Mary Kinzie) After the summer's yield, Lord, it is time to let your shadow lengthen on the sundials and in the pastures let the rough winds fly. As for the final fruits, coax them to roundness. Direct on them two days of warmer light to hale them golden toward their term, and harry the last few drops of sweetness through the wine. Whoever's homeless now, will build no shelter; who lives alone will live indefinitely so, waking up to read a little, draft long letters, and, along the city's avenues, fitfully wander, when the wild leaves loosen.
  10. Whoops 🤭 We Said Hello, Goodbye ~ Phil Collins
  11. Hello Mary Lou ~ Rick Nelson

    Rest in Peace

Gary Brooker, the lead singer for Procol Harum, has just died at 76. One of the first records I bought was of them live in concert. Everyone knows A Whiter Shade of Pale, but this is one of my favourites off the Live album. A Salty Dog https://youtu.be/BXRvC70B2wI
  13. Hope you feel better soon, Willoyd.
  14. Another Brick In the Wall ~ Pink Floyd
  15. Thanks Madeleine, Chrissy, Muggles, Hayley ... and Luna again
  16. Thanks very much, Luna I really enjoyed making it, it's a slow one to crochet, but loved the interplay of colours.
  17. I second or third tassles too This is my blanket ... hard to get a true depiction of the colours. The designer was inspired by the colours of Copenhagen.
  18. Shrek's poem
  19. Stunning blanket Luna! Have you got your next one planned? I've just finished a Copenhagen blanket (Wool Thread Paint) which uses a snuggle stitch and I'm feeling a bit bereft.
  20. Baby, It's Cold Outside ~ Dean Martin
  21. A bit belated for Valentines but I love this one. Valentine by Carol Ann Duffy Not a red rose or a satin heart. I give you an onion. It is a moon wrapped in brown paper. It promises light like the careful undressing of love. Here. It will blind you with tears like a lover. It will make your reflection a wobbling photo of grief. I am trying to be truthful. Not a cute card or a kissogram. I give you an onion. Its fierce kiss will stay on your lips, possessive and faithful as we are, for as long as we are. Take it. Its platinum loops shrink to a wedding ring, if you like. Lethal. Its scent will cling to your fingers, cling to your knife.
  22. Where Do the Children Play ~ Cat Stevens
  23. Wicked Game ~ Chris Isaak
  24. A Horse With No Name ~ America
  25. Pale Horse ~ Smashing Pumpkins
