  1. May The Bird Of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose ~ Little Jimmy Dickens
  2. I favour the carwash
  3. Yes, I've heard mention of the 'Intertubes' and 'surfing the web'. All sounds rather confusing and far too strenuous. I imagine it more like a hydroslide.
  4. Raven, goodness gracious, is that right???? Whatever next?
  5. It just annoys me how they leave such a gap between movie releases. I know it's all about money, but by the time the next one comes out I've completely forgotten what happened in the first. It's like reading books that have several volumes, I have to read them one after another or I get completely lost. Yeah, yeah, old age creeping in, I know!!
  6. I've started reading The Last Time They Met by Anita Shreve, I'm about 50 pages in. I have no problem with her writing and in a different frame of mind I'd probably keep going. But her characters are those intelligent, deeply sensitive type people with tragic pasts and I'm just not in the mood for it. It all gets a bit depressing. I think I need something light and fluffy, maybe a Janet Evanovich or a nice murder mystery
  7. Dear Dodie: The Life of Dodie Smith by Valerie Grove After reading I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith, and seeing Poppyshake had read her biography, I decided to read this as well. I love biographies, so I'm probably a bit biased, but found this easy to read and quite interesting. Authors are always interesting to read about, but I find they are never quite what I expect. I was surprised to hear she was a prolific playwright as well as being an author.
  8. Whether or not I like actors or celebrities depends largely on who they are as people. Tom Cruise gets right up my nose because of his ridiculous Scientology views on childbirth and child rearing. And like you Kylie, I sometimes get disappointed that some of my favourite authors are not quite the people I thought they were.
  9. Oh Bree, I didn't even get a chance to explain about this recording The heavy breathing, in case anyone thinks that a stalker is on the loose, is actually a very affectionate dog. When my neighbours go away I look after their dogs and chickens and feed their very greedy, wild native birds, sugar water. This is a recording of mostly bellbirds and tuis that hang around. It's amazing how much they can drink in one day .....several large pots full!!
