  1. Of course! It wasn't a hardship, as the books are so enjoyable. My favourites are the City Watch ones too.
  2. From what we've seen so far, my guess is that Zeke is alive but has lost his memory. He's been found by that Phil Andrews guy, who, deep in grief after his own son died, has told Zeke that he is his own son, Trent! Only in soapland!
  3. I read something about Noorul that really made me laugh: that when he was asked to make a decision, he looked like a comatose meerkat. He did!
  4. Really? That surprised me. I suppose they are very English and quite dated now, but I thought all things British were very popular in the USA?
  5. Well, I'm still waiting for my money - I'm sure you said you'd refund my money if I didn't like it. (I might perhaps be mis-remembering that, but I figure it's worth a try.)
  6. I hope so too, or there'll be an angry mob with flaming torches beating a path to your door.
  7. Yeah, it was a good book. I just loved the main character's name, Stanley Yelnats. I'm a bit sad like that.
  8. This does sound interesting! One more for the wishlist. Roxi, you should be asking for a 10% fee for drumming up all this interest!

    Emmerdale

Does it have to be characters that are already in Emmerdale? If so, I'd probably choose the Dingles. Imagine them doing the "Lord of the Manor" bit! Actually, they probably couldn't do any worse than anyone else who's lived there.
  10. So am I, the only trouble is that it's so long since I read the first two I can't remember a thing about the story! I think I'll have to re-read them before I read the third.
  11. Yes! I disliked the ending quite a lot, but thought the rest of it was great.
  12. Welcome from a fellow King and Koontz fan! I can't seem to get along with James Herbert, except for Fluke, funnily enough, which I thought was brilliant. I guess it's different to the rest of his books.
  13. I just watched tonight's episode, and I really am getting even more irritated by the whole Zeke thing. Is it different writers at the moment or something? I just ask because I think Susan and Karl are acting really out of character (I know they're supposed to be grief-stricken, but even so...) What's with getting rid of all Zeke's stuff?! I know you have to do it sometime, but it's only been about 3 weeks!! They could wait until a body is found or something. And the bit where Libby came to Rachel's rescue and sang yesterday was just cringe-making. Given that Rachel hated her at the time, I would have thought that she would just have got mad at Libby for ruining her special moment at Zeke's memorial. I don't know, it's just all annoying me. The sooner Zeke turns up, the better (I'm convinced he's alive). The only question is whether he's deliberately staying away because he "needs space" as his life wasn't too good before, or whether he has convenient soap opera amnesia. Rant over!

    Dr Who

That is so true! You don't notice his hair getting bigger from episode to episode, but I saw an older episode tonight where he was with Rose, and his hair was quite small in comparison to now! (I love his hair.)
  15. Happy Birthday! :balloons:

  16. I totally agree! But I suppose they have to have a "bad" family for you to hate (who inevitably get turned "good" by the goodness of Ramsey Street residents etc... And Zeke... How long can they drag it out for? Rachel's behaviour is really irritating me! I would feel sorry for her if Zeke were dead, but I don't think he is so I just find her annoying!!
  17. I really hate that one! I try to switch channels when it comes on.

    Dr Who

Whaaaaaat? In deference to the rules of this forum (which forbid killing people), let's just say that you are no longer on my Christmas card list. I completely agree! When I heard Catherine Tate was to be the next companion, I wasn't exactly pleased. But I ended up liking her the most and was also really sad when she left *sniffle*.
  19. I must have enjoyed Blaze, because I just remembered that I wrote a review of it (something I am generally too lazy to do)! It is buried somewhere in this forum.

Just wanted to say that I'm very pleased that your friend got good news, Inver! :)

    Dr Who

I quite enjoyed last night's special. I agree with Michelle that Lee Evans was too over the top, though it was funny how he got his own back by hanging up on the Doctor, who was well miffed! That UNIT commander was rather ruthless, ordering them to close the wormhole before everyone came back. I thought straight away that it will be The Master who will come back and "kill" the Doctor, because the psychic lady on the bus said something like "he knocks four times", and I just thought of the drum beat The Master used to tap on the table, which was four beats. But I'm probably completely wrong!
  22. Duma Key - haven't read it yet. It's on my TBR pile. I actually started it, but something better came along so it got put to one side. Blaze - I enjoyed this one. The best (I've read) out of the three. Lisey's Story - absolutely dreadful; I hated it. I'd put this one at the bottom of your TBR pile. The main problem was that I hated the main character - the way she spoke annoyed me no end. I would only recommend it to someone I didn't like.
  23. I never seem to see any new adverts until about 2 weeks after everyone else, so you've probably already seen this one, but I just saw a new(?) Specsavers one for the first time last night. It's the one with the two pensioners who sit down in the wrong place to eat their sandwiches - hilarious! I won't say more and spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
  24. Hi! I like the quote you mentioned too - I am a rather impatient person! My signature is stolen from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

  25. Happy Birthday Purple Princess! :balloons:
