'Chocolate' book....there is a review of the book in the chick lit section, some more positive reviews before you rule it out completely. It was maybe just a bit over the top chick lit for me I think.

  3. I was crying my eyes out at the end. I thought at one point when she was brushing her hair she actually looked a bit like my mum:blush:

How kind thank you. The other one is 'The School Run', which was the first one I read. Looks like she has another on the way too.....'The Supper Club' I just googled her and a website came up.

  5. I was lucky enough to have 6 (Elm Creek) sent to me from a very generous bookcrosser in the USA. In fact talking about them is putting me in the mood to read one now
  6. Maybe not illness as such but a couple of books did help me through bereavement.
  7. Can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe just too much reference to chocolate!! Or it could have been just not in the mood for that kind of read. Maybe some of the antics were a bit far fetched for me at times and the way one of the characters got called 'gorgeous' all the time, however I did carry on with it and it got to the stage that I had to finish it.
  8. Hope you have had a nice birthday.

  9. Another bookring via Bookcrossing. The title says it all, a group of friends, their lives and chocolate. Although a chocolate lover I struggled a bit with this book in places, but have to say I would LOVE to have a place like 'Chocolate Heaven' to chill out in with my friends!! I feel fatter just having read about chocolate!! I'm not sure if it left me wanting to read the next one though,

  12. Looking forward to reading it. http://www.debbiemacomber.com/index.cfm Love her website too. Actually her books kind of remind me of 'Elm Creek' series, whick started with the Quilters Apprentice by Jennifer Chiaverini. They are all based around quilting. I'm sure you would love them too. http://www.elmcreek.net/
  13. I'm looking forward to reading the 2nd one (via fellow bookcrosser) and then your bookring for the 3rd one....and now I know where to borrow the 4th one from Will it in time be another bookring....lol. Just had a look at the website....it is lovely. I love the covers of her books too, they would really attract me to them if I saw them in a bookshop I reckon. http://www.debbiemacomber.com/index.cfm
  14. Keep seeing the trailer for this one on the telly. Julie Walters in the dramatisation of the true story of the doctor who took the decision to end her life in a Zurich clinic. I guess it won't be a happy programme:blush: to watch but I love Julie Walters and am sure she will do the part justice.
