  1. I am glad that you enjoyed the Trilogy as much as I did. Book 3 was just a great, great read. I am so impressed at the work that Arden must have put into writing the Trilogy. The storyline was excellent. I keep harping on another book, Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. I read it last year and it has now become one of the most popular books in the U.S. This is what the hold list looks like in our town library: Where The Crawdads Sing – DELIA OWENS Holds information Some copies of this title belong to specific member libraries, and their users are given priority for holds on those copies. For this reason, users may jump forward or move backward on the wait list, so we can't accurately estimate wait time. Library copies: 36 (Kindle) People waiting in total: 1122 People waiting per copy: 31
  2. You've lost That Loving Feeling - Righteous Brothers
  3. And it just keeps getting better. A great book. Don't forget to keep reading after the books ends. Early Riser by Fforde sounds good. I am going to check out our library to see if they have the kindle book of it. Edit: I checked out our library and they don't have Early Riser in yet. I put in a request for them to purchase the kindle version so now I will have to wait for it.
  4. Good Golly Miss Molly - Little Richard
  5. I have read all 3 books of The Winternight Trilogy and enjoyed all of them. They received a 4/5 rating from me. My only regret is that the Trilogy is finished, I would love to continue reading these books. Arden put a lot of work in her research for writing the books. Hayley, you have some really good reading to look forward to in book 3.
  6. So Long It's Been Good To Know You - Woodie Guthrie
  7. Check out this thread and you can find a list of my favorite books:
  8. Of the books you have read so far, which did you enjoy the most?
  9. There's Nothing I Wouldn't Do - Tina Turner
  10. 5. Virgil Wander - Leaf Enger - 2/5 - Not my cup of tea. 6. The Pagan Lord - Bernard Cornwell - 3/5 - This was book #7 of the Last Kingdom series. I have enjoyed all 7 books at this point and there are 5 more to go. Hayley & Chrissy - Have you read "Where The Crawdads Sing" yet. It was definitely my most enjoyable read of 2018 and probably longer than that, excluding the Classics. Poppy - I seem to recall that maybe you were also going to read it.
  11. All Or Nothing At All - Frank Sinatra
  12. I am cooking Pinto Bean soup in the slow cooker. It will be done for dinner tonight. It is a simple recipe that I "borrowed" from the Cracker Barrel Restaurant and is very good.
  13. I am #1 on hold at the library for the just released The Golden Tresses of the Dead (a Flavia de Luce series novel) by Alan Bradley. I am looking forward to reading this book. I am currently reading Virgil Wander but can't quite get into the book. I very seldom give up on a book but may do so on this one.
  14. The Impossible Dream - Jack Jones
  15. When I Grow Too Old To Dream - Everly Brothers
  16. Angels In The snow - Olivia Newton-John
  17. I hope you enjoy Where The Crawdads Sing as much as I did. Happy reading in 2019! 4. The Winter of the Witch - Kathleen Arden - 4/5 I just finished reading The Winter of the Witch (book 3 of the Winternight Trilogy) and rate it a 4/5. I wish there were more books like this Trilogy to read, just enjoyable reading. If you read this book be sure to read the Authors Note at the end. It adds so much to the overall knowledge of the fantastic story in the book. It took Arden 7 years to write the Trilogy and it is easy to see why after reading her Authors Note. Also, read everything after the Authors Note to get a complete understanding of the story and the amount of work that went into the Trilogy.
  18. May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose - Little Jimmy Dickens (we had an ice storm last week and lost power for 9 hours. trees were covered with ice and many came down)
  19. Where The Crawdads Sing was my favorite book of 2018. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did. I am about 33% into The Winter of the Witch and so far I give it a 4/5. 1/5: I didn't like it 2/5: It was okay 3/5: I liked it 4/5: I really liked it 5/5: It was amazing
  20. 1. - The Reckoning - John Grisham - 2/5 2. Fear - Bob Woodward - 3/5 3. The New Iberia Blues - James Lee Burke - 3.5/5 - As usual from Burke this was very good reading. This book is the latest in the Dave Robicheaux series. Dave and Clete team up to solve disturbing murders in Southern Louisana. I just started reading Winter of the Witch (book3 of the Winternight trilogy). I once again strongly recommend a book that I read late last year......Where The Crawdads Sing. It is currently #2 ranked book in popularity in the U.S.
  21. Its A Beautiful Day - Sarah Brightman
  22. Beautiful Dreamer - Roy Orbison
  23. Everything Is Beautiful - Ray Stevens
