  1. Finally, the last season of Game of Thrones starts tonight. Last season the episodes were really great. I can't wait to watch it tonight. As usual we will see some unexpected things happen
  2. Down To The River To Pray - Allison Krauss
  3. I love baked beans. Those on toast look delicious. For Easter my wife always makes home baked beans, potato salad (with lots of dill), and pickled eggs. We also have baked ham with the meal.
  4. I have never heard of beans on toast. Please give a little more info. Type of beans etc.
  5. I see that you have read The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. What did you think of it.
  6. Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime - Dean Martin
  7. I Ride An Old Paint - Riders In The Sky
  8. True, but it is still part of the Inspector Gamache Series. Yes, it is only about 96 pages. I am now reading Glass Houses by Louise Penny. Our library has 15 of the books in the series and I am just reading them as they become available at the library rather than wait to read them in sequence.
  9. Rainy Days and Mondays - The Carpenters (I took a little license - but I'm allowed)
  10. 14. The Hangman - Louise Penny - 3/5. I enjoyed the first book that I have read by Louise Penny and intend to continue reading all of the books in this series. Her stories remind me of Agatha Christie.
  11. Happy Days Are Here Again - Barbara Streisand
  12. You are doing very well with your reading this year. Hope that it stays good the rest of the year. I am pretty sure that you would like Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. It was not only my favorite book last year, but probably for a few years. I did a little research for you" "I can't even express how much I love this book! I didn't want this story to end!"--Reese Witherspoon"Painfully beautiful."--The New York Times Book Review For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. Then the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved. When two young men from town become intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new life--until the unthinkable happens. Where the Crawdads Sing is at once an exquisite ode to the natural world, a heartbreaking coming-of-age story, and a surprising tale of possible murder. Owens reminds us that we are forever shaped by the children we once were, and that we are all subject to the beautiful and violent secrets that nature keeps.
  13. 13. The Long Road to Mercy - David Baldacci - 3.5/5 Trump is (unfortunately) always in the news in the U.S. There were some U.S. Presidents that were not favorites of mine but when it comes to Trump he is altogether in another category. Can't wait to cast my vote in the next election.
  14. 12. Early Riser - Jasper Fforde - 4/5 - Review: what Hayley said.
  15. I Love A Rainy Night - Eddie Rabbitt
  16. Ridin' The Bluegrass Express - Rhonda Vincent
  17. Please Mr. Sun - Johnny Ray
  18. Congratulations! You seem to have fairly good success at the library. I hope you enjoy The Golden Tresses of the Dead.
  19. As you know I get almost all of my books from the library. I did enjoy The Golden Tresses of the Dead but just not as much as the others in the Flavia series. A week ago I requested the library to purchase Early Riser by Jasper Fforde and I was notified today that they have purchased the kindle version and it is ready for my download. I think that was the fastest purchase of any book that I have requested them to buy. The library also informed me today that they had purchased another book that I requested (Trickster Point by William Kent Krueger).
  20. Excellent review on Winter of the Witch.
  21. 7. The Golden Tresses of the Dead – Alan Bradley - 3/5 8. The Empty Throne (Saxon Tales) – Bernard Cornwell - 3/5 9. Fallen Land – Taylor Brown - 3/5 10. Warriors of the Storm (Saxon Tales) – Bernard Cornwell 3/5 11. The Flame Bearer (Saxon Tales) – Bernard Cornwell 3/5
  22. Once In A Very Blue Moon - Dolly parton
  23. Bad, Bad Leroy Brown - Jim Croce
