  9. I finished reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo last weekend and loved the book, couldn't put it down. I immediately downloaded The Girl That Played with Fire and am about 10% through it. Salander is an amazing and unusual girl. Good writing from Larsson.
  10. A Sweet Old Fashioned Girl - Teresa Brewer
  11. I walked 42 minutes on the treadmill today while listening to an album by Teresa Brewer . I would guess that none of you have heard of her.

  15. Who'll Stop the Rain - Creedence Clearwater Revival
  16. I am totally enjoying the book so far. I am only 120 -130 pages into it, where he is in Derry. I get a creepy feeling at this stage in the book as I can't get my mind off the occurances that have happened in Derry. King has accomplished what I think he intended. I remember well the JFK assasination and was old enought that I can still visualize everything that happened including the Jack Ruby shooting of Oswald. I will never forget as we were all glued to the TV as the events happened.
  17. Did you listen to the music, it was great I thought.
  18. Hot Rods from the 50's and 60's. Great video. Make sure you turn the sound up before you access the video. The last song is from one of my favorite movies, Thunder Road, with Robert Mitchum http://cruzintheavenue.com/CarsWeDrove.htm
  19. Thanks Chrissy - appreciate your response. I also read the review on Amazon and it seems to be an interesting book that my GD would enjoy.
  20. I am only 50 pages into 11/22/63 and really enjoyed it so far. I think the writing is superb in this book. Unfortunately, my book at the library is ready for me and I will have to put the King book aside for a couple weeks. The Confession, I enjoyed it and agree with the message that Grisham kinda gave in the book on the death penalty. btw, Grisham and I have the same dentist:). Grisham gives both his time and money to many events in Charlottesville. He built the nicest (5 fields) Little Leaque Baseball complex in the U.S. for the kids to use and he is actively involved. Generally, I like most of his books.
  21. My GD requested this book, among other things, for Christmas. : North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell Have any of you read the book and, if so, what was your opinion of it?
  22. You are absolutley correct. my old age got me again and I screwed up. I remember well the events of 11-22-63 and still get emotional when I think about it. I will actually start reading the book today, I just finished reading Grisham's book, The Confession.
  23. Yesterday was the 50 year anniversary of the Kennedy assination. I am a little surprised that no one has mentioned it. maybe the book isn't very interesting. especially since no one has posted recently on the book.
  24. I bought 11/22/63 tonight. Wow, it is a heavy book. Only problem is I have a couple other books to read before I get to King. I also have my name on the list for two books at the library and when my name is called I have to read them as they only give you a limited time. One of the books though is t Zero Day and I am number 130 on the list (they have 4 copies)so it will be a while before I get that book. I will keep reading the posts to see how well you all like 11/22/63.
