  1. Once there was a little boy who lived in the country. The family still used an outhouse, and the little boy hated it because it was so hot in the summer, freezing cold in the winter and stank all the time.

The outhouse was sitting on the bank of a creek and the boy was determined that one day he would push that old outhouse straight into the creek.

So, one day after a spring rain, the creek was swollen and the little boy decided today was the day to push the outhouse into the creek. He found a large pole and started pushing. Finally, after much effort, the outhouse toppled into the creek and floated away.

That night his dad told him they were going to the woodshed after supper. The boy knew that meant a spanking, so he asked why.

The dad replied, "Someone pushed the outhouse into the creek today. It was you, wasn't it son?"

The boy answered yes. Then he thought a moment and said, "Dad, I read in school today that George Washington chopped down a cherry tree and didn't get into trouble because he told the truth..."

The dad replied, "Well, son, George Washington's father probably wasn't in the cherry tree."

  2. Thanks Poppy, Athena, and Brian, appreciate. The 200 mile relay next year on the West Coast would mean a 2500 mile plane trip for her to get there. I am betting that she will participate. :)

The Boston Marathon, as you probably know, is somewhat difficult to qualify for as there are so many runners that want to participate from all over the world. I am hoping she does well again this year if she in fact runs in it. She will have to do a lot of training as the race isn't that far off.

  3. A song from my favorite "Western" group.......Riders in The Sky......They do a lot of yodeling in harmony and that is difficult.

I seen them perform in person at least 6 times and I have a couple stories to go along ...but later.

  4. Julie and Jan

Julie and Jan died and met at the pearly gates. Jan said to Julie how did you die?

Julie said "I froze to death", "Oh that would be terrible" said Jan. "No, it wasn't that bad, I was cold at first and then I got sleepy like in a dream".

Julie said "How did you die?"

Jan said "I was convinced my husband was sleeping around on me". "I came home early, rushed into the house, and my husband was in his easy chair". "I ran upstairs and checked the bedroom, went thru all the closets, ran downstairs into the basement, looked all around there, went back up to the main floor and checked all around there, had a heart attack and dropped dead".

Julie said, "we would both be alive if you had checked the freezer first".

  5. I am going to share part of an email my GD sent me this evening, don't usually do this but I consider it an exception. :)

    From my GD:

I might do Hood to Coast next year. That's out in the west coast. It's another 200 mile relay type race. It's very prestigious hard to get into. My racing team got in now to decide if I want to run it or not!

Did I tell you I qualified for Boston and will be running that marathon in April. I had a fast qualifying time so I got to sign up the first day! I'm running the fastest times of my life this year! I love it. Got to do it now while I'm still young.

  6. My GD ran in a 200 mile relay race recently from Cumberland, Maryland to National Harbor, DC. The relay team she was on (total of 12 people)came in second place. She ran a total of 18+ miles in the relay in different stages. This is a video of some of the run featuring GD's team.
