An Old Fashioned Love Song - 3 Dog Night (written by Paul Williams)
-
Every Time We Touch - Cascada
(boy did I screw up my previous post - not Elton John but Paul Williams was the one that allowed us the use of his name - also Richard Carpenter of The Carpenters and also Sophie B.Hawkins)

golabki is what I call halupki, and yes, I love them. I had some for dinner last night as a matter of fact.

Bison taste is similar to beef but just a "little" bit stronger. It is much leaner (and healthier for you) than beef. You should cook it slower than beef and make sure you don't overcook it. I much prefer it over beef. Wild boar......no.
pontalba - yes we have French bread up North but they don't know how to prepare the po-boy sandwich. Po-boys just taste better when prepared in Louisiana.
My niece cooked a turkey for us during our visit. She also treated us to some pumpkin cake that she made.....it was really, really, good. I just now sent her an email asking if she would share the recipe with us.

Your Song ~ Elton John
(this was his first hit song and one of my favourites)
(When we were in the racing business Elton John gave us the ok to use his name on our vehicle and told us a little of his off-road "motorcycle" days when he was younger).
Just Another Love Song - The Allman Brothers

Your Wildest Dreams - The Moody Blues

Sweet Dreams - Patsy Cline

You couldn't help but sing along to Itsy Bitsy
And anything by CCR is irresistible. That's a nice cover by Ike and Tina, Chesil.
I totally agree.....do I have you and chesilbeach singing yet.

Oh, piffle, who cares about football? yeech.
No cause for the grumps.
It turned into a gorgeous day today, after a cloudy morning, the sky turned a clear blue with, finally a few clouds in the late afternoon.
We went out early this morning, and had brek at Starbucks, triple white chocolate lattes and a bacon and egg sandwich. We were only going to go to the grocery afterwards and come home. But once back in the car we thought of driving across the lake to visit our favorite second hand book store in Uptown New Orleans, McKoewn's Books. We managed a few.....
Then we drove over to the French Quarter (about a 10 minute drive from Uptown) and stopped at a hole-in-the-wall po-boy shop.....I had the loveliest roast beef po-boy I've had in ages. YUMMMMM!
Stopped a Whole Foods on the way home, and more grocery shopping.
Long, and wonderful day.
You are fortunate to have po-boy sandwiches. Wish they had them up North.
Love the Whole Foods stores. That is where I buy my Bison meat.

Hi Everyone!
My name is Ola. I come from Poland. In my opinion the best know traditional Polish dish are pierogi. Pierogi are dumplings stuffed with just about anything you can think of - potatoes, meat, onions, cheese. If you haven't eaten them before, you have to try!
What's your traditional dish ?

I really like pierogi as well as halupki.

Pizza? McDonalds? Living in America is sad.....
Shame......The U.S. has probably the best food in the world. IMO only Italy may have better food preparation.
btw, pizza originated in Italy
Some good foods that originated in the U.S. are Cornbread, Grits, and Key Lime Pie.
Try some jambalaya and gumbo from Louisiana or BBQ from North Carolina or the world's best lobster from Maine. Not even mentioning hard shell crabs from Maryland's Eastern Shore. New England's clam chowder and lobster bisque are unsurpassed for soups.

Echoing what one of my friends said to me a couple weeks ago, I'll be 'powering down' for the next 5 months or so. Winter makes me in an all-around grumpy mood so watch out!
I only enjoy winter on Christmas Eve and that's it. Now if I didn't have to drive in the snow and ice I'd be practically giddy but ah, that's not the case when you live in the frozen upper-midwest USA like I do.
Fair warning my BCF friends! Winter Marcia is about to go into hibernation
Have fun on vacation, Raven!
Suet pudding?! Is UK suet the same as US suet? Like the blocks of greasy stuff we put out for birds in the winter time?
All's well on my end of things. We're starting to slow down a bit at work which is nice after a very hectic summer/autumn. I'm continuing work on my family tree, and starting doing research on my ancestor John Nutting, who was born in Kent UK and came to the US around 1650. I love getting into the origins of my England ancestors!
I hope everyone has a great week!
Face it, you are really grumpy because of the Vikings.
And I am not doing much better with the Steelers.

We had a lot of kids come to out house for "Trick or Treat". Didn't count them but there were probably between 50 and a 100 (closer to a 100). Most were polite and said thanks and to have a good night. and they all came in a short time span....about 90 minutes.

We are making one of our twice yearly trips to Washington, DC next Wednesday for an appointment with our doctor for a medical check-up. I expect to catch heck from him as I have put on about 4 or 5 pounds since last visit and my sugar level will probably be up. He called me at home after test results came in from my last check-up and he was very happy that I had got my weight down to 165 and the sugar level had dropped.
My doctor is now recognized as one of the so called "Super Doctors" in the Eastern U.S.
