The Moon is Down, John Steinbeck

How did you like The Moon is Down? Steinbeck is probably my favorite author. I have read all of his books but must admit I don't remember the storyline of The Moon is Down (it has been many years since I read it).

Yes, @muggle not I thoroughly enjoyed the Le Guin but had to put the Faulkner down as I wasn’t enjoying it at all. This has me disappointed as I usually do enjoy Faulkner. I might pick up later and see How I get on.

I have not read The Mansion by Faulkner, guess I will wait awhile on it.

  2. 10. Never Flinch - Stephen King - 4/5 - my rating is probably higher than Stephen King's rating of his book. The book consists of 3 or 4 different stories that start to converge until it all comes together. Holly Gibney, Jerome, Barbara and a host of others are featured..

This is a snippet from the "Afterword" of the book:

This was a difficult book to write, partially because I had surgery to repair a damaged hip in late September 2023. Never Flinch has gone through multiple rewrites and three title changes. I'm finally happy with it. Or - let us be truthful - happy enough. It's never all I'd hope for, but there comes a point when you must let it go.

Thanks to my wife, who read the first draft of the book and said, "You can do better." That was hard news to get, but eventually I heeded it because she was right (she usually is).
