  6. I am a little over 30% into David Copperfield by Charles Dickens and am loving the book. I may have to set it aside for a few weeks to accommodate a few books that I anticipate getting from the library but will probably still read a few pages now and then.
  7. Take This Job And Shove It -- David Allen Coe
  8. My best wishes for an exciting and enjoyable trip. I hope you don't have time to read any of the books.
  9. Take Me Home Country Roads - John Denver
  10. If you need another book to read on your trip you may want to try something different for a change and read: Memory Man by David Baldacci - I think you would like it, I did. .....from Amazon: Amos Decker's life changed forever--twice. The first time was on the gridiron. A big, towering athlete, he was the only person from his hometown of Burlington ever to go pro. But his career ended before it had a chance to begin. On his very first play, a violent helmet-to-helmet collision knocked him off the field for good, and left him with an improbable side effect--he can never forget anything. The second time was at home nearly two decades later. Now a police detective, Decker returned from a stakeout one evening and entered a nightmare--his wife, young daughter, and brother-in-law had been murdered. His family destroyed, their killer's identity as mysterious as the motive behind the crime, and unable to forget a single detail from that horrible night, Decker finds his world collapsing around him. He leaves the police force, loses his home, and winds up on the street, taking piecemeal jobs as a private investigator when he can. But over a year later, a man turns himself in to the police and confesses to the murders. At the same time a horrific event nearly brings Burlington to its knees, and Decker is called back in to help with this investigation. Decker also seizes his chance to learn what really happened to his family that night. To uncover the stunning truth, he must use his remarkable gifts and confront the burdens that go along with them. He must endure the memories he would much rather forget. And he may have to make the ultimate sacrifice. MEMORY MAN will stay with you long after the turn of the final page.
  11. Hmmm, I haven't read that book. On to my list it goes.

  13. Welcome To My World - Eddy Arnold
  14. Wow, I see that you have The Graveyard Book on your list. That is my favorite book by Neil Gaiman.
  15. I think I will download the book but not read it. I will wait for about 7 days to see if the 3rd book comes available and if so read it and I will still have time to read the 4th book. I can keep each book for 21 days. After 7 days if I don't get the 3rd book I will turn in the 4th and re-apply for it.
  16. I had better give some thought to this one. The 3rd book is close to being available to me. I may wait for it and cancel the current hold on the 4th book and then re-submit a new hold for it. Gotta think on it a little. Thanks for the input.
  17. We were under a severe weather alert tonight. Fortunately we are on;y getting lightning, rain, and some wind. Other areas very near us got wind in excess of 60 mph and golf ball size hail.
  18. Yes, it was sure a heartbreaker. I felt sorry for Sheldon. The final episode sure left us "hanging".
  19. Kylie - Is it ok to read "Son" before reading "The Messenger". I had both on hold at the library and much to my surprise "Son" became available before The Messenger.
  20. Pasta Bolognese and a fresh spinach salad. A bottle of Rioja.
  21. I lost 2.6 lbs today mowing the grass. I mowed for 4 hours with only a couple 5 minute breaks (my riding tractor is being repaired). On top of that I had previously lost almost 3 lbs from normal spring/summer outdoor work. I maintain my 55 minutes on the treadmill 6 days a week at a speed of 4 miles per hour. I hope I can keep the weight off at least until my doctor's appt. in June.
  22. Let Him Run Wild - The Beach Boys
  23. Run Away Woman (Hootin' the Blues) - Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee
  24. White Boy Lost In The Blues - Sonny and Brownie
