  9. I have lost my yearning for reading, surely it is a temporary thing. Probably due to other things going on in my life and a little stress.
  10. Carolina In The Morning - Jimmy Dorsey & His Orchestra
  11. YTD, I have downloaded approx. 19 E-books from the library to my kindle. In the U.S. it is a great way to read at no cost. There are some of the current popular books that you have to wait for but I just put them on a hold list at the library while I go on to another book that is available. For example, my library has about 6 - 9 Jasper Fforde books and most are available.
  12. Both Chesilbeach and I have started the Chronicles of Kazam series by Jasper Fforde.....welcome aboard. I use the library for reading most of my books. It is so easy to download an e-book to my kindle from the library and I can do it any time of the day. It makes it nice when I want a book at, say 10:00 pm that I simply download it to my kindle. And it is free.

  16. There Goes My Baby - The Driifters
  17. Back in Baby's Arms - Patsy Cline
  18. April In Paris - Ella Fitzgerald
  19. We had homemade vegetable soup today. My wife says I ruin her soup by putting tabasco sauce in it.
  20. Congrats - I hope it goes well for you.
  21. Great review. I am glad that you enjoyed East of Eden, it is a great book. Some of Steinbeck's other books, Tortilla Flat, Cannery Row, and Sweet Thursday are more humorous in a way but are also like you said...."life laid bare" of the specific people in that location. Steinbeck is my favorite author but Charles Dickens is catching up.
  22. Come On A' My House - Rosemary Clooney
  23. I miss dogmatix. She was a veterinarian who had a thread on here where she would post newspaper articles that she wrote and would also answer questions by forum members regarding animals. She was a delightful person. I am sure some of the old timers remember her. Dogmatix doesn't post on forums now. She became pregnant, had "twins", and she and her husband moved from North Carolina to Bangor, Maine (home of Stephen King). She did pop in about a year ago and wrote me a PM saying that she lost all desire for posting on forums when a forum friend of hers died.
  24. Which reminds me of another story that I have to tell....but later for that story. That also reminds me of a story that I may tell of a poem that I posted with the understanding that Michelle would delete it after a specific time as I don't believe there was an edit thingie back then. I just remembered of another person that I recommended and she was here for a while before she gave up forums and she moved to Bangor, Maine.. Remember dogmatix.
  25. Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes - George Jones
