  1. Wow. Sounds good. Not to worry I took one home from near to the house instead:icon_oops:
  2. Lilywhite, I was in Preston on Saturday night. I had an hour and a half wait for a train to Burnley (I know I could have rung my Mum but I knew she'd moan). I was craving a chinese takeaway by the time i arrived in Preston and could only find Indian takeaways in the town.. !
  3. This is difficult. I am finding it hard to think of books I definitely would not recommend. Here is my attempt... 1. 'The Emperor's New Mind' by Roger Penrose ~ It is about algorithms and other mathematical theorems, cosmology, quantam... Very interesting but very deep. 2. 'Great Expectations' by Charles Dickens ~ I have only put this because I am struggling. It is the first book I thought of. I found it incredibly boring, however, it has so much to say for itself under analysis. 3. 'Emma' by Jane Austen ~ I found no story in this and could not get into it. 4. There was a book i read in school. I remember it was yellow with a dog on the front. That is all I remember about it. 'Enough said..' 5. I can't think of one..
  4. I love this play because we studied in school. I really want to go and see a production of it. It is good when you look at the deeper reasons behind it.
  5. Yes this is a great book, and well worth the read. you have all helped to remind me of it. I shall have to read it again..

  8. A lot of books I have read in the last couple of years have been recommended to me, but otherwise I see what looks good from my shelf. I think I am going to start looking into different genres/countries soon to braoden my horizons.
  9. I forgot to add Mrs Pepperpot. I new there was something else!
  10. Yes I vaguely remember that in the dim and distant past...
  11. mmmmm, I think Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings would be the only ones, although of course I read the secret seven and faraway tree series, and probably a few more as a child.
  12. No idea. Never used one.. Anyone else? sorry I'm all hyper. I've gone back onto proper coffee:lurker:
  13. According to my Mum, by two I was reading the huge print words in newspapers. I know I was always top of the class (what happened? ) and i read all of the books in the school (till i was beyond my level then they put me back to the beginning. I never saw the point in that).
  14. And as for her reasons for wanting counselling.. 'I think,' she began, 'I think I'm just very lonely and that's why I keep hearing voices...' Immediately she examined their faces for their reaction. This Present Darkness Frank Peretti.
  15. Interview with the Vampire is on filmfour on Halloween..
  16. mmmm just the things for those cold winter nights. Anyone else have any winter soup recipes?

  20. In Africa if we had a long day we would have breakfast, bread and jam, sometimes cereal, then we would get a second breakfast out in the form of a danish. mmmm danish for second breakfast. Bad, but so good. Something for a long day..
