  1. I do exactly that too Kell. I also find myself thinking like the book. I once text OH saying I noted his sardonic mood because it had occured a few times in the book I was reading. Sort of like what you do with the speech.
  2. Aww thanks, and don't worry. I'm sure I couldm more than return the favour by posting a list of my christian books to be read.
  3. As for the Pratchett covers, I prefer the Kirby ones, yet when it comes to Harry Potter I must have the adult ones..
  4. I'm like that too, and could ask the same question. Even now at this time of night, I am thinking of all the things I should have done today and haven't. The reality is probably that I should forget about it and read then start again tomorrow, but what will I do? I prefer the quiet too. Students are great, but I love to get quiet time to myself, especially to read.
  5. I feel just like Kell. There are so many books out there waiting to be read. I have actually thought about this quite often and not like to leave them unread, but there are so so many. I know that the books I have and some others I would not want to leave unread.I do wonder if i will get through them. I also often think that there is not much in this world worth anything. Books provide an escape from that for me, so I should definitely read more.

    Hello

Hiya, I suspect you have found out by now, but The House At Riverton gets much better a little further in. I still can't find the notes wrote about the book:roll:. It would be great to discuss it with you. Welcome to the forum.

    Er...hi

    Welcome to the forum!
  9. Hiya. Welcome to the forum. It seems you are into a lot. Lot's to discuss!
  10. Welcome Adam.
  11. Hi Candybar, welcome to the forum. I feel the same. Too much to do, too many books, not enough time.
  12. Well I have never read this book, but I certainly get what you are saying about being in your own little world where anything can happen. I think you have described that feeling perfectly. I have had that with a lot of books. I felt it most with Tolkien's trilogy, but also with Frank Peretti's This Present Darkness, Robert Neill's The Mist Over Pendle, the Harry Potter books and a little bit with other books.
  13. I'm not exactly sure what classifies as YA, but Harry potter is definitely my fave. I like the Narnia books too.
  14. Definitely.
  15. Covers attract me, as do titles. You can tell a lot about a book by its cover but I always read the blurb to find out if I'll like it. I don't have a good attention span at times so i think I would never have looked at different sorts of books if I had never come on this forum.
  16. No. I am tryig my best to read my Penguin book. I am really not in the mood for it, although it is not too bad a read, just hard going. I must be good and get into it more. I did have a bad week last week with sleeping and things though.
  17. Definitely! I made some last year, and still have some spices, but OHs sister got us a bottle already made so we may have that his year.
  18. I haven't read them all either. I want to. Kell, can you tell us what the order is chronologically? I probably have something that tells me somewhere..
  19. The first book I read of Grisham's was The Firm, and I know it sounds horrid, but was so engrossed in finishing the book that I was reading it at the same time as listening to my sister tell Mum about someone who had laid into her. She was at a party and had been beaten by some girl. We had to pick her up, and I was reading in the car and at home:blush:
  20. I feel that way too, but I cannot afford new books at the moment so the library is great, plus I like taking Katie to choose her own books and I take her to the baby groups too.
  21. Apparently it is Winnie-the-Pooh's birthday on Sunday. Let's celebrate!
  22. Sounds truly disgustin Fishandchips. I'm going to make an omelette.
  23. I really need to read the books I have. I must admit I have a soft spot for bargains though. I recently bought 10 books for
  24. Hey CoG, you are seriously trying to extend my reading list! You have some interesting reads there.
  25. I can walk into a bookstore without buying, but it is incredibly difficult, and the only thing that stops me is the fact that I don't get much money.
