I thought that Deja Dead is Kathy Reichs' best book so far - loved it
Just starting Mary Higgins Clark - Where Are You Now?

There's a car ad at the moment (not sure what car) where the little boy asks his dad where he comes from. It then goes into detail (in a "visual" sort of way). I'm no prude but I do think it is bit graphic if indeed he is telling his boy about the birds and the bees. The punch line is quite good though.
I actually like this one and it is very creative. Personally I think that it is inoffensive. Love the punch line

I don't mind a nice salad. I usually use:
Mixed salad leaves (home grown if poss)
rocket
cucumber
toms
pepper - all colours
mushrooms
radish
celery
red onion
spring onions
Like others here I use pasta - the spiral variety with a variety of salad ingredients and ham / cheese
Cous cous salad is also nice

Still plodding through this. My reading has taken a bashing - daytime, bright weather = sewing, evenings - too tired and dosed up on painkillers for my back! Tonight Lewis is on so more time lost!
-
Inver and Kate - they are both lovely - look forward to seeing the completed photos

Been a bit slow reading this month!!
Now starting Kathy Reichs - Deja Dead

My son loves the new Boursin cheese advert. A couple is having a very romantic picnic with said cheese in a wheat field and don't see the combine harvester in their path.............
. He has a very sick sense of humour

I was a bit disappointed with this one - not sure why.

An all time favourite:-
To Autumn
by John Keats
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness!
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eaves run;
To bend with apples the mossed cottage trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees, Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'erbrimmed their clammy cells.
Who hath not seen thee oft amid thy store?
Sometimes whoever seeks abroad may find
Thee sitting careless on a granary floor, Thy hair soft-lifted by the winnowing wind,
Or on a half-reaped furrow sound asleep,
Drowsed with the fume of poppies, while thy hook
Spares the next swath and all its twin

I buy from small needlework shops, Hobbycraft, ebay or anywhere I can lay my hands on a kit. I also have numerous books on all kinds of sewing and needlecraft and often just raid my massive stash of threads

How I adore that scene - just to see those drops of water dripping off that handsome face!!!!!
I love costume drama and no-one does it better than the BBC

My migraines are triggered by tiredness. I often have the threat of one where I lose half of my vision - which can be very scary when I am driving as this is my only truly functioning eye!! I've had these since about 7 yrs old.

Boiled egg with bread and butter soldiers
Favourite - has to be the full English!

Jane Eyre is my all time favourite and I've lost count the amount of times it's been read! Wuthering Heights is also a great read - you won't be disappointed
-
I don't tend to read the intro - I prefer to launch into the main book as I like to form my own opinion and thoughts about the novel. Reading it in depth reminds me of my exam days.............
-
Quite enjoyed this one although, for me, this took a long time!!

I do the same, Angel. Also, previously I used to knot my threads, but I'm doing it "properly" this time round and jst sewing the ends into the back of the stitches to keep them secure - far neater now! Am quite pleased with myself improving like this! One of these days I'll get onto more complicated projects like yours once I progress a bit more and gain more confidence...
You'll find that when you mount the pictures or use them as part of another item (eg clothing, ) the overall finish is more pristine and professional looking. Pictures tend to be flatter within the frame
Keep up the practice - once Xander starts playschool you'll have a few more hours to embark on a bigger project, then there'll be no stopping you
Oh you are all good and dedicated - well done all of you!I do at least start neatly by using a single piece of thread and then fold in 2 leaving a loop at the end, I then thread the 2 loose ends through the needle and start the first stitch and then do the first diaganol stitch and when the needle goes through the back I put the needle through the loop of the thread and I find this works well.
That's a great way of keeping the back neat - ideal for tablecloths / runners where the back will be on view - best to get in the habit now
-
I confess that I do like the back looking nice and tidy
. I also don't trail my threads across the back either in case it shows through - the maximum I take across is 5-6 stitches - even then I thread thru the back of statches. I know it sounds anal but I can't have it any other way

Roast pork & all the trimmings. Homemade lemon meringue

She looks like she was well done though - and small things leed to bigger as they say. It looks like that you are starting to tackle bigger projects with your wolf
. Enjoy the challenge
