One thing I am dreading, is my son being a teenager. I will not be able to keep him safe, and I know that he would think I am meddling and being over-protective, but he would be still a baby.

I used to stick to tried and tested authors, BUT since joining here I have tried new ones. Ones which I would have never dreamed of trying before.

A Sci - Fi novel - which I never tried before. The plot is all about "a man" who is heir to a huge fortune, and who lives in a world where death is not always fatal ( ), in fact he is always being assassinated, but manages to 're-grow' various parts of his body over and over again. I believe his original colour was black, but he ended up mostly green (the re-growths), and sun tan makes some parts a different shade of green. He also has a robot servant, a robot horse, a planet as a godfather, and a security chief who even runs checks on himself, amongst other such characters. All of these characters can communicate - even the water - and obviously not always by speech. I had a huge problem trying to figure out all the characters, races, robots and planets . I also did not get much of the descriptions and puns, but appreciate the author's imaginative capabilities for the ones I did get. All in all a very different book to what I normally read.

I enjoyed it. It was an easy to read book, written with a sense of humor. I believe I did post some comments about it under reviews.

Have started Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. The first couple of pages are certainly intriguing. I think I will enjoy this book.

I started off the year with the second half of Terry Pratchett's The Dark Side of the Sun. I found this to be a difficult book to read, I had never read any Sci-Fi novels before. (In fact I dragged on and on with it and the book is all of 159 pages). I think I missed more illusions than double what I got, but some of the ones I got were quite entertaining. All the characters and races and robots, apart from the planets, were confusing to me, but the author really has a vivid imagination.

I admit I am not enthralled by The dark side of the sun. I do not normally read either sci-fi or fantasy....and am finding it difficult to picture most of what I'm reading, or to really get into the story!

Well, love in real life is not easy to find, nor does it come with a g/tee that it lasts forever, or can be replaced or retargeted at someone else......but it is the greatest thing on earth when it happens. It can also be the most heartbreaking feeling on earth if it is not reciprocated. Just like in TTW.

I do think this is a problem for most families.....it is so difficult to find a family where everyone likes everything...or at least most things.

My son would rather go hungry than eat something he does not like. I know cause I tried it.

Oh...that makes me feel better....at least I am not the only person going through that!...sorry Angel....but it does!
