  1. Have actually found a recipie. It is shaped:
  2.   That's funny. Thanks Tash. Am I to understand that it comes in a particular shape? :?
  3. What the heck is a spotted dick exactly?
  4. Remembered that I had bought "The Growing pains of Adrian Mole". I bought this because I have The Cappuchino Years, which I read a few years back and remembered as being hilarious. Read The Growing pains. It is a very funny book. Am thinking wheter to re-read The Capuchino years.
  5. I think I may have to move after all!!
  6. I agree! I would not have done that. Apart from that, I do not believe it could happen in real life - I cannot imagine leaving my family, making them think I am dead, and living a "made-up" life, for a job!!!
  7. Not only that - he came out a big huge wimp because of the whole episode, whereas I always used to see him as a hero. Come on, if it were me I would have told her(him) where to go!!
  8. I think I will give that a try. Sounds right up my street.
  9. you can eat it raw! It tastes better. Or else I shred it, mix it with bacon, beaten eggs and seasonings and pop it in the oven.
  10. They really taste good don't they?
  11. I love veg. There are only a couple that I can think of right now that I will not touch. I tend to prefer them raw, but eat them cooked as well. Today I bought some mushrooms on my way to work, and mid-morning was snacking on them, (I had had a big chunk of cake a bit before). The other girls at the office could not believe that I am actually enjoying the taste.
  12. You really should Kell. Her earlier novels were brilliant!

    These books are really something!
  14. Today we were talking about finicky eaters, at work. I was really amazed how many people would not eat veg!
  15. I have read all the previous Scarpetta novels, so know where the characters are coming from. However if I were to start with this book, I would not get into the characters so much, and I would not make it a point to read all the books as the first one i picked up made me do. Personally I think this book falls short of the usual good stories her earlier novels were, and I was a bit disappointed.

I finished Trace. (so there!! ;-))) I was wondering what to read next, started leafing through Adrian's pains, and before I know it I am already in May. April went by vvvvvvvvvery fast! And I'm quite hooked, what with mum's knickers on the floor, and Dad's lover, a Janet Reger slip and sexual frustration. I think this is going to be hilarious! Anyone read any of these books?

Oh..I forgot that I bought "The Growing pains of Adrian Mole" I read "The Cappuchino years" a while back, and enjoyed it. So that's on the list as well.
  19. ...Actually at one point Kay is talking to EAP, and she keeps telling him "Hello Edgar Allan", and "How are you Edgar Allan?" I found that rather irritating - no one will call a person by two full names if they are saying hello I would think!
  20. To tell you the truth, every time I read his full name, my dislike of this person intensifies. Perhaps that's the aim!! The story so far is O.K.,but much slower than usual, I think. However I am quite disappointed re how the characters have changed. Pete Marino - I loved him in earlier novels - has been given "An Extreme Make-Over", and I am left with my mouth hanging open! Even Scarpetta and Lucy are different - and not more likeable either. I feel let down, as they were "better" characters in the previous novels.

Oh guys I love you all! (And I might not have to move To UK after all, just visit you all from time to time with lots of Gozitan honey, and Maltese bread for Michelle as well of course!)
  22. Well this has been a strange week as far as reading is concerned. I was sick last weekend, and could not even find the strength to read, and then was not in the mood for the rest of the week. Today, however, I picked up where I left off .....Trace, which is the current month's Reading Circle book. The characters have changed a lot from the previous novels, and I don't think it is a positive change. more later....
