  1. The book which really took my by surprise this year is HArry Potter. I never wanted to read the series, because of all the Hype and advertising, but my friend lent me her copy of the first in the series, which I started on Tue, and I am already two thirds of the way through - and it is just Thurs!
  2. I am an eleven year old boy, and have just found out I am supposed to be a famous wizard
  3. From Nightwish
  4. Will be Risotto Marinara, which I haven't done in ages!
  5. Ok, I guess this deserves an entry in bold. After years of not even deigning to give them a second look, whenever I came across this series, I have just started Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, by J.K Rowlings.
  6. Good Start with The bone Collector first, it is the first in the Lincoln Rhyme Series.
  7. Are you going to try any more? I haven't been let down yet - although I try to space them out.... He has 'two sets' of books - stand alones, and a series where the main characters are Amelia Sachs a Detective, and Lincoln Rhymes, a quadriplegic criminalist/consultant. These were briefly mentioned in The Sleeping Doll....
  8. Jeffery Deaver - The Sleeping Doll. Enjoyed this book - I especially like Deaver's twists at the end - and have come to expect them Well thought out plot.
  9. I'm currently reading 'The Sleeping Doll'. I really loved the bit when Dance called Amelia Sachs/Lincoln Rhyme for their theory/opinion about the case she's working.
  10. Just finished Jeffery Deaver's, Praying for Sleep. Must say this felt a bit long winded at times, although it could be because I am reading in fits and spurts at the moment. However the story is fine, and there is a double twist at the end - I had figured out that things are not how they seemed, but it still took me by surprise Enjoyable. Anyone read it?

  15. OK, I will have to read this next. I was going to leave it for after the New Year, but I cannot now, I have to read it.
  16. Oh I had this at school...and I don't remember it as being as interesting as your review makes it sound. Perhaps it's time for a re-read?
  17. Katrina, you should have read them in order, IMO, for maximum benefit. (I too, started with OBG. However I read CP after, BI after that.. Actually CP should be the first book to start with )
  18. Have a great day Mac :balloons:

  19. Val McDermids The Grave Tattoo was delightful. Jane, a Wordsworth Scolar, stumbles upon the distinct possibility of a previously undiscoved piece of work of the great poet. The discovery of a mummified body in the Lake District, which was hundereds of years old, made the quest urgent. When Jane travels to the Lake District on study leave, Jane's neighbour and 'ward' ends up charged with murder and arson. Jane knows she is innocent, but she has to prove this without showing her own involvement in the matter. Meanwhile Jane is not the only person interested in Wordsworth piece...
  20. Hey Janet, NP. It was great actually! :)
