  1. I think I may join too because as Marie says the weather doesn't look to be too great, so it will be nice to get some reading done. I am hoping to have finished my current book by tomorrow and can focus on reading The Shining at the weekend.
  2. I thoroughly enjoyed Bookends I must say the first few chapters were slow getting into the story, but it definitely kept my interest after that. Well I gave it four stars, so must have I am reading Gavin and Stacey from Barry to Billericay by Ruth Jones and James Cordan. I am really loving this.
  3. My day in books I began my day with Bookends on my way to work, I saw Normal People and walked by The Undomestic Goddess to avoid The Beast Of Buckingham Palace but I made sure to stop at Jurassic Park in the office, my boss said Match Me If You Can and sent me to research The Selection at lunch with The Lost Tudor princess I noticed One Little Mistake under The Holiday Home then went back to my desk... The Last Battle Later on the journey home, I bought Afternoon tea at the Sunflower Cafe because I have The Golden bird then settling down for the evening, I picked up The Tinderbox and studied Sharp Objects before saying goodnight to My Single Friend
  4. I loved Afternoon Tea At The Sunflower Cafe. This is my third book by Milly Johnson. The characters were great, I especially loved Astrid who was so funny and Brandon. I wish he was in the book a little bit more. i am am currently reading Bookends by Jane Green. This is my first read by Jane and I am quite liking it.
  5. The Cake Shop In The Garden by Carole Matthews
  6. The awning that hangs over the window is a tired yellow and white stripe and much of the paint has flaked off the sign above the door announcing that this is The Sunflower Cafe. Afternoon Tea At The Sunflower Cafe by Milly Johnson
  7. Just finished Elizabeth Is Missing by Emma Healey and One Little Mistake by Emma Curtis. Both great reads and highly recommend. Happy reading
  8. "Maud? Was I boring you so much like that you'd rather stand outside in the dark?" Elizabeth Is Missing by Emma Healey
  9. I absolutely loved the My Naughty Little Sister stories by Dorothy Edwards. We also had ladybird books for children. Also a fan of Jacqueline Wilson. Wouldn't mind rereading those to be honest.
  10. I have read some great books recently and not so great. One of the latter been The Fill In Boyfriend by Katie West. There just wasn't any storyline and the ending... well there wasn't much of one of those either. I have just finished Only A Mother Knows by Annie Groves. I loved this so much, but realised near upon completion it is part of a series. I hate reading books out of order, but I am going to forget that and read the rest In the order they come in. currently reading Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. It is on my phone and there are quite a few spelling mistakes but overall enjoying it. I can see it been a 4 or 5 star. I'm not a huge dinosaur fan but can't be denied they are fascinating creatures. Not sure what to read after. I have read some great contemporary romance by the likes of Sophie kinsella, Jill Mansall and Fern Britton lately so looking for something a bit different. Maybe more thriller/horror.
  11. I am currently on 43 books with 16 behind schedule. I seem to have read almost the same amount of books in the last month or so (7) than I have between end of March and beginning of July (10) But it is definitely picking up again. Read some great books recently.
  12. Apparently (at least, so she told me) it all happened because her best friend Keisha had to stay behind after school for hockey practise. Dinner For Two by Mike Gayle

    Hello everyone

    Hello, Rafael and welcome
  14. Hi Linda, Welcome to the forum Have you read anything by Ali McNamara or Milly Joshnson? They are two I would recommend. I have only read You're The One That I Don't Want by Alexandra Potter but it is one of the best books I have read this year. I hope you find some books you enjoy and happy reading
  15. Baynard's Castle, London, England, November 1501 I am to wear white and green, as a Tudor princess. Really, I think of myself as the one and only Tudor princess, for my sister Mary is too young to do more than be brought in by her nurse at supper time, and taken out again. Three Sisters Three Queens by Philippa Gregory
