Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Went out for my brother's birthday on Saturday and then it's my sister's Wednesday. There are birthdays here, there and everywhere.
I have read two Beatrix Potter and finished Lady Chatterley's Lover which took me the very short time of 8 months to read.
Still making my way through Sisters. More than half way through and really nothing has happened. That is probably because she is still
repeating what we already know
I haven't read any of her books. So I will have to check those out. My mum bought a book on Mary Queen of Scots.
So that will probably be one of the first I read. We probably have others but I just never get round to reading them.
I have read/completed the following this month:-
The Girl On The Train = 4 stars
Ameliaranne Goes Digging = 3 stars
Pride and Prejudice = 1 stars
A Study In Scarlet = 5 stars
After You = 5 stars
You and Me Always = 4 stars
Wasn't there a time when people didn't have fridges or freezers at all? I think my Gran born 1945 never had one and even when my mum and aunties were growing up. They had a pantry which I assume would in a way work the same. My Gran has a fridge now but only in the last couple of years got a big one where for a lot of my childhood she had a smaller one with no freezer.
It's great when that happens!
It was the same for me yesterday. I read 112 pages and finished Me and You Always by Jill Mansell.
Simply because I didn't let television or the internet get in the way. I was very tired and am still in awe of people who can complete books in one day but it was nice to finish it.
I really need to find a weekend to spend doing a read-a-thon but think it's going to be easier said than done.
The days are only going to get busier now we are getting closer to Christmas.
It is funny because eggs in supermarkets are not in the fridge but many people do keep them in the fridge once at home.
We don't keep eggs in the fridge now they are homemade.
