  5. Hope everything was okay, Frankie. Think it's unprofessional for them not to get into contact. It was said on the radio that the average person gains 5LBs over Christmas. I'm not too bothered about healthy eating this month. Will need to get back on it in January though....

  14. I read Jane Eyre around 10 years ago. I remember liking it but not loving it. I love the classics but I think just because they are "classics" if you don't like or read them then "you don't know good literature" I would rather give a 5 star to a badly written book that makes me happy/laugh/feel emotions than a well written book I find boring just because it's by a certain author or a classic. The only way I would give Jane Austen that I have read 5 or even 4 stars is just because everybody else has. That's just wrong. Athena, I noticed you had read some Lucy Diamond glad you enjoyed them too. I'll be sad to let this book go but happy that it's another one I can put on my Read shelf. Afterwards think I'll read The Haunted Man by Charles Dickens and Meet Me Under The Misletoe by Abby Clements for something Christmassy.
  15. Have you read anything else by Jane Austen? I have read two of her most popular novels and didn't like either. I am hoping I enjoy something of hers. Just finished The Partner by John Grisham. I liked it but didn't really understand the ending so will have to probably look that up. Also nearly done with Sweet Temptation by Lucy Diamond. This is my first book by this author and she's written some really great characters in this one. Lauren is a bit hard to get on with at first but am warming to her towards the end. This is going to be a high rating from me.
  16. I don't usually come into this section but was reading threads about Harry Potter. Then saw this. NOTHING about this book inspired me to read it, but it was recommended to me by a family member so I gave it a go. I loved it, gave it 5 stars and is an all time favourite. Which shows do not judge a book by its cover. Literally ha! Also liked the film. Watched it in school.
  17. Congratulations! That's great news!
  18. The BFG by Roald Dahl. Not really sure what I was expecting with this but not quite what I read. Anyway really enjoyed it. 4star! Shirley, glad you are enjoying Me Before You.
