  1. For what it's worth, I get the idea Minnesota might be one of the comfiest places in the US. I've seen pictures and read about it, and it's always portrayed as cool in films and shows. I'd like to visit it someday.
  2. What's it about?
  3. Thanks, Anna Begins.
  4. I think I'm happy. It fits really well with everyone else's lives around me, which feels like a really good bonus. Perhaps I'm excited, because I don't know what lies ahead. It feels right.
  5. Thanks Chrissy, Athena.
  6. To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf and Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky would be my suggestions. I haven't read any of those you mention, so I don't know how similar they are to what you want.
  7. I have some personal news; in the next months, I'll move in to my father's house in The Netherlands. North Holland, to be more precise. He invited me when we met in August. I don't know why I took so long to decide; the other option was moving in to an uncle's apartment in a coastal village, but I'll choose the adventure instead. I've been there twice before.
  8. Can Oberland be read as a stand-alone, or does one need to read those that came before?
  9. AnimalRobot edited scenes from Fantastic Mr. Fox to the sound of a hip-hop track. https://youtu.be/XDDbD9GmcHM
  10. I thought you meant the bank clerk who survives the doomsday whilst inside a chest. But that episode's cool as well, although I can't remember how it ends.
  11. Welcome back, Brida.
  12. It is now on my wish list. It looks like an interesting book.
  13. Why princess Leia is nearly two years older than Luke (major spoilers). It's a bit interesting, albeit not being in the films. However, they aren't considering everything that happens before their travels to Vespin. Can you think of other sci-fies that would change if this particular physics rule were considered?
  14. Thanks for the answer, it's a good idea doing it like this. I'm likely to read Tales of Mystery and Imagination by Edgar Allan Poe, Dracula by Bram Stoker and/or Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, depending on time. I'm also thinking of manga related to witchcraft, monsters or anything else related.
  15. I was under the impression everyone would choose their own books to read, as long as they're related to Halloween.
  16. Sony has shown their virtual reality device on Tokyo Games Show. I really hope they can pull this off.
  17. Apparently, they only accept people to use their real names. This is their way of trying to enforce it.
  18. I created a letterboxd account. These are the films I watched recently: The End of Evangelion, by Hideaki Anno - 4/5 Tetsuo: The Iron Man, by Shinya Tsukamoto - 3/5 Europa Europa, by Agnieszka Holland - 2/5 Le Bonheur, by Agnès Varda - 4/5
  19. I couldn't finish Firefly, I think it's cool, but the River Tan character is a deus ex machina they can use whenever they please and it ruins a perfectly good story.

    Tennis

Federer has been unlucky with his grand slam finals these last few years; Djokovic, on the other hand, is establishing himself as one of the greats, at least accounting for the grand slam titles.
  21. RIP William Becker, one of cinema's biggest patrons in the form of Janus Films and the Criterion Collection.
  22. New episode of Every Frame a Painting; this is about how scenes supposed to happen across the globe are actually shot in Vancouver, Canada. Edit: cool gimmick, if you select the subtitles "English (Canada) - Movie Title", it shows the names of each location and film/series
  23. I also have no demands about the date, any you choose is fine to me.
  24. I was brought up as a catholic and, curiously enough, Arslan was the first fictional character to show me how frail and stubborn are most barriers people raise between themselves. I'd like to be able to say it was what took me away from religion, but as good as it sounds it isn't true. I usually read a bit about the author's life and where he was at the time he wrote the book, therefore I can put myself in his/her place and it gives me a different perspective. There's still much that escapes me, though.
