  1. Ya but aren't they so darn FUN?! I LOVE LOVE my Kindles- all the ones I had- ok 3 but I love them. I have a Fire now. For school of course I liked my Papperwite best, but my Fire holds no comparison. I guard it like crazy. Is it as easy to find books for school on it as I've been hearing? I'm looking forward to the new King too!
  2. Ah ah ah- there is a new one set in New Orleans!
  3. Two and a Half Men should have ended THIS season IMO. That show has definitely jumped the shark.
  4. Ah- I have only read Yattering and Jack because I've been waiting so darn long to read it! The whole volume will hopefully be read this year though.
  5. I love reading these two books together! I will have to spend more time reading two at once. 80% done with Jack Reacher No 13 Gone Tomorrow. 30% into Pillars of the Earth. I'm enjoying them both immensely.
  6. I don't think I liked Divergent much... did you read the books? If not, you'll like it. IMO. I can't wait for Maleficent too!
  7. Wow- That's amazing! I can't wait til the rest of the world catches up. Congrats- BIG ones.
  8. What did you think of the Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon? I've only read the Kindle Sample. Welcome!
  9. I downloaded the Kindle Sample and am just on the Clive story now. I hope the sample at least includes the whole story! Interesting that Damnation Game was mentioned in the intro, I didn't know it fit in with the genre. I haven't read that one yet so...
  10. Wow! And to think I can only get through 5 or so a month!
  11. Thanks for all feedback on Pillars of the Earth! I have to admit, I really like it and have now sometimes started two books at once- something I haven't been able to do since I was young. That sounds awesome! *Goes to look on Amazon*
  12. Was it too heavy on the actual building of the cathedral?
  13. I know this is an old thread, how did you end up liking it? Did I miss a review?
  14. I could watch Bonnie and Clyde amost everyday, I think.
  15. It was great, I met up with an old friend and we ended up adding a day to our trip! I think I might take up Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. Anyone read it?
  16. I'm on vaca and haven't been able to read for TWO whole days! I feel so wrong lol Still on Jack Reacher no 13, Gone Tomorrow.
  17. Darn, forgot Bonnie and Clyde.
  18. Finished Jack Reacher No 14, Bad Luck and Trouble. Now I'm going to read No 13, because the curiosity of the first person perspective is driving me crazy. I want to see if Lee Child can pull it off. I'm sure he can, just don't know how. 11% in.
  19. I didn't mind it, but I guess I'm strange lol I hated Gone With The Wind (but It's my Favorite book) For me, recently, it's got to be Jack Reacher. Anyone that knows me on here knows what a fan I am and believe me, it's one of the worst movies ever. Tom Cruise? Really? As Reacher? I don't think so. Plus, the story sucked. Thank god Lee Child didn't write that mess. Divergent wasn't that great either, IMO.
  20. Fun Fun Fun in the Sun Sun Sun
  21. In order, what I can come up with so far: Northern Exposure M*A*S*H Big Bang Theory Red Dwarf The Soup Saturday Night Live Dr Quinn Medicine Woman (Ya, I know, but it's a show my mom and I watched and I really did like it a lot) Three's Company Star Trek Next Generation Star Trek Voyager
  22. That's a great one!
  23. I know what you mean!
  24. Finished The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. Review in my thread. Started Jack Reacher 14 this morning, called 61 Hours. I haven't read Jack Reacher 13 because it is in the first person and I'm not sure I want to read a Reacher book in the first person- I'm afraid it might ruin the series. It got good reviews though.
  25. Today is Cinco de Mayo, a holiday commemorating Mexico's democracy and freedom. In California and some other states, there are demonstrations against illegal immigrants from Mexico and demonstrations by the same immigrants for citizenship. In California and elsewhere in the US, like Texas, Cinco de Mayo is mostly celebrated with margarita's, Corona beer and Mexican food with big parties and going out! So YUM!
