  1. Delivery of The Promised Neverland #15 by Kaiu Shirai. I’m so excited as it seems to be ages for the publishing date.
  2. I think that I’ll be an armchair traveler again! Trying the Silk Road trip Eastern Horizon by Levison Woods. Possibly also The Riviera Set - 1920 to1960: the golden years of glamour and excess.

    Hello everyone

Hello Rafael, and to the Book Club Forum!
  4. Nearly finished reading The Dam Keeper; a great book, and the illustrations are wonderful, but the storyline is not what I was expecting.....much more sinister than I thought it would be. And there are 2 of the series too! (though they are a bit expensive, so I'm trying to decide whether to buy them or not.) Finished reading The English Air by D E Stevenson. I really enjoyed this one, though I was expecting it to be a rather frothy romance, but it was much more serious consequences with the characters, and the plot with the beginning of WW2. A really good book in the end. Starting with Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens.
  5. Starting to read When the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens.
  6. Nor me, especially the hot weather being humid!
  7. Thunderstorms yesterday, and probably another one this afternoon, by the looks of it. Seems we are having a wet season!
  8. An hour of thunder in the afternoon yesterday, but only gentle rain. Forecast for thunderstorms for the next 2 - 3 days.....
  9. A Month in the Country - J. L. Carr
  10. Someone Somewhere in Summertime - Simple Minds https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RUedmyr2G0M
  11. Watched Artemis Fowl (which I previously thought was in episodes, but is actually a movie) last night. Very enjoyable. I won't include any spoilers, but I think that the reviews that I read this morning were rather harsh, and some gave it a low scoring. *surprised shrug*. Personally, I really enjoyed the movie.
  12. Book delivery this morning - The Dam Keeper by Robert Kondo and Dice Tsutsumi.
  13. The Shadow Of The Wind (The Cemetery of Forgotten Series Book 1) by Carlos Ruiz Zafon for 99p Kindle Edition UK.
  14. I didn’t manage to settle reading as much this weekend, but apart from approx. 2 hours before sleeping. But it was good time for concentration!
  15. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Scone by J K Rowling The Lord of The Fries by William Golding
  16. Only managed 2 hours of reading yesterday, as impulse baking and hunting for fabric material/mask DIY took quite a lot of time. Should be able to have more time reading in remaining this weekend
  17. Reading this weekend are The English Air by D E Stevenson, and Eastern Horizons by Levison Wood.
  18. Camera Obscura - Lloyd I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken
  19. I'll have reading time this weekend, as the weather has gone chilly! Not sure what books to read yet, but there are a few which are currently on my treebooks TBR list.
  20. Aah, that song is my favourite to listen to in summer, and memories of the early 80s. Fond memories!!
  21. At last, we have rain again!! Though only light rain at the mo. The forecast is for more rain (in the West Midlands), and I need a lot more precipitation for the garden. P.S. 7.30pm and it's 11 degrees out there, with breeze from the North - and it feels ridiculously cold out there!
  22. Hello and to the BCF forum.
  23. Starting the audiobook The Opal Deception (Artemis Fowl #4) by Eoin Colfer. Currently listening to The Revolving Door of Life (44 Scotland Street #10) by Alexander McCall Smith. Loving this one, and the narrator David Rintoul is excellent; although I think that some non-Scottish listeners could have some difficulty following the narrative!
  24. The First Picture of You - The Lotus Eaters
