  1. I liked The Time Machine, sounds like I'll have to buy and read Doctor Moreau sometime (apparently it was already on my wishlist XD I think you or someone else from BCF recommended it to me). Shame you didn't like The First Men in The Moon that much.
  2. Wow, I'm glad the surgery went well and I hope she'll get better now. None of our dogs have had cancer, but the first one did have problems with his leg after a while so they put a metal pin in his bone (I can't remember the details). It sounds like Keiko had a rough time, very sneaky though that she was just faking some of the pain! I hope she gets well soon, pet her extra from me . I look forward to see pictures of Keiko, I suppose she'll be quite bald, the poor dog. You didn't make many spelling mistakes at all, so don't worry about it. Hugs back!
  3. Awww, that's awkward , I hope you'll be able to do it (and that you pass, of course!).
  4. Nice that we have some authors in common ! @Tim Haha, nice! I love that film.
  5. Hey, I don't know you since I've only joined the forum a month ago, but it's nice to meet you though!
  6. I really like Dan In Real Life too, it's a great film (you should see all of it sometime)! I think Steve Carell is a great actor. I don't recognise the other names you mention, I only know the most famous actors really , though I may recognise them if I see them in something else.
  7. We had a power cut, gladly power has just been restored! I'm glad it didn't take too long. We keep the house warm using wood but it needs electricity to pump the water through, so with a power cut there's no electricity but also no heating.
  8. Thanks, that can be handy sometimes .
  9. Nice review, it's great to read your thoughts on it. It sounds like something I'd enjoy reading, will get to it at some point! (I bought it last year on a sale)
  10. I haven't actually read the original English version - I bought it but haven't gotten around to reading it yet (it's not that big, I should really read it sometime). I love the story! Would probably also give it 4/5, but I'll have to see how the author writes in original English to give a definitive rating.
  11. Mine is split up into three different books (in a box set), so in total it's quite big but somehow I've not considered it intimidating because the books each are small.
  12. I love the Earthsea novels! I've got the Earthsea Quartet which is four novels in one. I don't recall much happening with the rival character in the other three novels I've read, I read it a while ago though but I don't think it plays a big part or I would've remembered it . Great review, btw .
  13. I'm glad to hear it! Mine are still in the plastic XD (I bought the box set), I've only heard good things about it though so that's very promising. I look forward to read your thoughts once you're done .
  14. This has been on my TBR list for a while, I have it in an Omnibus edition called Peace And War. I've kind of agreed with myself I can't read it unless I read War And Peace too around the same time (that's such a big, complicated book that I haven't started it yet). Silly maybe, but I'm weird like that .
  15. Awww that's a shame . I hope you have fun with The Eye Of The World, I liked it and look forward to hear your thoughts.
  16. I'm currently reading Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult. I've read about 100 pages, it's pretty good so far. I'm hoping to read more of it later today.
  17. I look forward to hear/read what you think, I hope you like it .
  18. I've got Blood, Sweat and Tea, I haven't read it yet. It's not the kind of thing I normally pick up (it was kind of a freebie when I bought some other books) but I hope it'll be interesting. After reading your review of the next book, it sounds like it could be nice to read.
  19. That's a lot of snow! Neo's so cute, running around and playing with the snow.
  20. I hope the blizzard won't be too bad . Good luck Lucy, I hope it goes well . I've done a lot the past two days so I look forward to resting a bit today.
  21. We had spaghetti with beef, vegetables and bolognaise sauce.
  22. Thanks ! I'll use that link instead of just going to Amazon.com and clicking on Kindle Store. The deals don't always show up that way.
  23. Reuben's really cute. He looks really sweet, and when as he got older, he still has such beautiful fur! He can run so fast too! Pamuk runs fast too, and she looks a bit like Reuben. Which makes me really think she is half labrador. I don't have any videos of Boris or Pamuk. I don't have a smartphone or video camera (camcorder). Well, I don't even have a camera, but I borrow my parents' one (or boyfriends' one). I think you can make videos with a photo camera, though I don't know if YouTube can read them (maybe I should try sometime). I do have some very old footage of our two dogs who've passed away, somewhere (but my family will be in it too and some of them won't want to be on YouTube perhaps). I used to make lots of photos and a few videos too, in the past. But then things changed in my life and I realised I didn't look at that old stuff much, and sometimes didn't even want to (depending on the time or event). I do like to see photos of our pets who've passed away, they were so beautiful. I did think of posting some but I wasn't sure if it wasn't considered weird. Lately I've been trying to take more photos since it is nice as a memory (most of the time, at least). Sorry for going a bit off-topic! Here's Boris, not long after we got him (he was four months old here):
  24. I assumed the husband had paid the assassin to kill the wife, that's why I would blame him.
