It's a HP Deathly Hollows kind of day.

Its predictably gray now that the dark lord has been sworn in.

Overcast but pant temps. I have on short sleeves and riding with my windows down.

Hey y'all! I've spent an hour or so updating my Happy Planner 365. I love this thing as it holds my fitness/meal journal, budget, bullet notes and calendar. I like to go through and update my budget for expenses over the weekend and set my appointments for the rest of the week. I found that this really keeps me on track, no leaving notes and papers all over my desk. This morning I did my 5 minute tabata workout, had quiet time, made my green smoothies (two per day) took my vitamins and put away laundry. Later today I'll go for a nice long walk but between now and then, I'm working on the outline for my book. Today is Martin Luther King Day and I've opted out of doing the regular parades and such. It honestly just not in me this year. Have a great day!

Record highs yesterday (80f) and today is gray but mild (mid 60's). Hoping to take a quick two mile walk later.

I'll be in shirt sleeve by this afternoon; sunny and spring like. Great for bagging a ton of leaves. Not much else going on, dog walking, hair washing. Exciting stuff! Tali! Please try to restrain yourself from dancing a big, lmbo!

Spring like temps today, highs in the mid 70's. I'll take the dog for a nice walk then help hubby bag leaves for pickup. Cost us $100 for someone else to rake /blow them yesterday. Worth every penny.

I only EVER do audio when I'm driving alone or else I'd spend all my time rewinding.

Chesil, lol! I'm organized NOW because all the grands are gone. I can be ruthless with the tossing out. I sought the first part of last year decluttering but didn't get down to the nitty gritty of the finances until a few months ago. It took something but it was well worth the effort!

Pretty mild today although overcast. It looks like it rained last night but I swear I heard nothing. Our temps are expected to climb by tomorrow. I have decided to stop complaining about it and just go with the flow, which is laughable cause its not like I can actually DO anything about the weather anyway!

Book based TV/radio prorammes and podcasts
Virginia replied to chesilbeach's topic in Music / TV / Films
chelisbeach, I'm a podcast junkie. I find I would rather listen to a podcast than music. There's an app called "castbox" you can download pretty much any type of podcast. I've found some really nice book ones. I'm personally found of those that are centered around the UK. Its something about the podcasters that interest me. I love to imagine I'm doing walks around the country side and visiting ancient ruins. -
Wow, Kell! I'm so sorry you and your family have had such a bad time of it but I'm happy that everyone is on the mend. Your poor mom, bless her, she's got that mother's heart, wanting to be in two places at one time. I've been pretty mellow these last few weeks. Not much going on just easing my way into the new year. We've got the budget set, my fitness journal going and my house pretty much organized. I do plan on getting off my duff next month and taking a real estate course with the end being me becoming licensed. That's a 60 hour course. I'm pretty excited about it. I should be able to get with a real estate company and get some experience. Whelp, that's about it. Have a great one y'all!

I'm on Season 5 of Downton Abbey. I took a a break right before Christmas when I finished up Season 6.

Hi and welcome, ninja! I just completed the Discovery of Witches Trilog by Deborah Harness. Excellent read and right up your alley. Is about live between a vampire and the most powerful witch known. https://www.amazon.com/Discovery-Witches-All-Souls-Trilogy/dp/0143119680/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484096086&sr=8-1&keywords=discovery+of+witches

Just came back from watching Rogue One. I can't get over the run ending...

More Reading..., you certainly got a raw deal over the holidays, hope you're doing better. I'm sitting here in my recliner wearing my giant one piece sleeper with the fire going. We had "snow" this morning, all of two hours of flurries, lol! Kizzy wasn't quit sure what to make of the stuff that came down from the sky but wasn't water. She will NOT go out to use the bathroom when its raining. She didn't mind the snow flurries! I really want to go to see Rogue One with hubby but he's still sleeping. If we don't make it I guess I'll just laze about the rest of the day.

I'm still working through Inspector Lewis. Very intellectual and I really enjoy the settings.

I watched Diagnosis Murder early this morning, lol! And I've also watched Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries!! There's just nothing like a "GOOD" mystery that doesn't have to be uber graphic. When I sit down to watch them, its like sitting with old friends.

Kindred spirits we are!!! I absolutely LOVE those shows! I did a Midsomer marathon yesterday. I'm currently watching Murder She Wrote. It's been almost two months since it was on television because Hallmark Channel ran 24/7 Christmas specials.

In today's news we have a shooting at a Florida airport, so far 9 people are injured and the shooter is in custody. The Orange Clown In Charge (OCIC-Donald Trump) has fooled his supporters. He has now reneged on his plans to 1) prosecute Hillary Clinton and 2) he has decided to try and make the taxpayers pay for his bigely wall and then Mexico will pay us back. Yeah, you read that right. Mind you, these are just the bigley lies he broke. And he's in a Twitter war with Arnold Schwarzenegger about his low ratings on The Apprentice. I can't make this stuff up. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/shots-fired-fort-lauderdale-airport/?linkId=33100289 http://www.vulture.com/2017/01/trump-arnold-apprentice-ratings.html http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/donald-trump-us-paid-back-mexico-wall/story?id=44595291 UPDATE: Five confirmed dead.

Its cold and dreary with on and off again rain drizzle. We're hunkering down for a "snow storm" here in the south. We should be getting snow late tonight or early in the morning. Because of where we live (Southeastern part of the US) we don't get snow often so when we do, they break out the salt trucks and start closing everything down and all the grocery store shelves become butt naked. Most of my native born neighbors (who didn't migrate here from the North and Midwest) loose there bloody minds when a snow flurry shows itself. For this reason, I stay put. I grew up and learned out to drive in Virginia. I took my driving lessons IN the snow, on a four lane highway with 18-wheeler trucks in front and coming up beside me. I feel like a pro, lol! These individuals who don't drive well in most kinds of precipitation panic and do really dumb stuff. Its safe to assume that I'm not leaving home til the weather clears up. Good thing I already stocked up!

Lots of rain. The thunder was so bad around 0130 that it woke me up. I thought it was an explosion. I'd never heard anything like it! If the rain let's up enough to make the trip worthwhile, I need to get to the library. But ONLY if the rain abates.

I may go see Hidden Figures this evening as hubby is back off to work.

Oooh, Madeline, I pray you get that fixed quickly and inexpensively! I spent the past few days getting my new planner set up and working on filling out my new fitness calendar and budget. I got a jump start on my healthy clean eating and have already lost 10 lbs. I didn't want to wait til the new year as the hardest days are the first few weeks. I'm two weeks in and have gotten past the roughest part. I'm doing yoga and an interval class starting tomorrow. Now that all my paperwork (budget, fitness, etc) is in order and we know where we stand and where we're going this year, I can focus on my job search. Tomorrow morning I head out with resumes in hand and will go to our local employment agency and temporary job agencies (which is my preference to see what company I like) and cast my lot. My goals right now are to pay down certain debt and start on my student loans. Here's the planner that is all the rage here in the States! https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=happy+planner+365+2017&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Ahappy+planner+365+2017 Have a great day all!
