frankie Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Shutter Island. I was expecting a lot from this movie but I'm rather disappointed.
Ruth Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Heaven Knows, Mr Allison, with Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr. Watched this at the weekend, and can I say - I ADORED it! I'd never seen it before - it reminded me of The African Queen (which is one of my top 5 favourite films ever). I just thought Heaven Knows, Mr Allison was lovely - very funny and very sweet
Inver Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Men In Black 3 with hubby and Kenny on Saturday....was quite good, but 1 and 2 were better.
celinasinha Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Last time I saw The Cedar Rapids film. It is a comedy movie . I like comedy movies. I feel fully refresh after watching the comedy movies. I watched this movie with my friends.
ian Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Watched Little Miss Sunshine the other night. A really funny comedy that slipped in under the radar a few years back. It stars Greg Kinnear, Toni Collette & Steve Carell. But even given these great names, it's Alan Arkin who steals the show.
jynx Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Watched 7 days of Darkness last night & it scared the living daylights out of both me & my other half!!!
chesilbeach Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 (edited) Watched Little Miss Sunshine the other night. A really funny comedy that slipped in under the radar a few years back. It stars Greg Kinnear, Toni Collette & Steve Carell. But even given these great names, it's Alan Arkin who steals the show. I love that film! You're absolutely right about Alan Arkin, and I loved when they "revealed" the full dance routine at the end. Edited June 12, 2012 by chesilbeach
pontalba Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel !! Finally! Love, loved, loved it!!!
poppy Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel !! Finally! Love, loved, loved it!!! Isn't it wonderful!! I don't think I've heard of anyone yet, who didn't like it.
Timstar Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Saw 50/50 with Joseph Gordon Levitt and Seth Rogen. Very moving film about a guy coping with cancer. Rogen plays the same character as always but Levitt really shines in this film. Liking him more and more.
Kylie Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I watched Chocolat and Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House (with Cary Grant) last night.
Ruth Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I watched Chocolat and Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House (with Cary Grant) last night. Mr Blandings - such a funny film. I think that was what The Money Pit (with Tom Hanks) was based on.
Ben Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Watched The Talented Mr Ripley this afternoon. I thought Matt Damon was fantastic and it was an enjoyable watch.
chesilbeach Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Mr Blandings - such a funny film. I think that was what The Money Pit (with Tom Hanks) was based on. I love both those films! Want to go and watch them straight away, but it's a bit late to start a film now Maybe this weekend ...
Kylie Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Mr Blandings - such a funny film. I think that was what The Money Pit (with Tom Hanks) was based on. Yep, it was. It's been a while since I saw The Money Pit. I watched Death Race last night. It was such a guy flick.
Sofia Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I watched Chocolat and Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House (with Cary Grant) last night. I love Chocolat....one of my fave movies....and I can watch Johnny Depp all day long
Ruth Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Watched The Talented Mr Ripley this afternoon. I thought Matt Damon was fantastic and it was an enjoyable watch. That is a brilliant film with such a great cast. It's also the only film of Jude Law's that I have enjoyed.
Kylie Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I watched Kinky Boots last night. A great movie - really underrated, I think. I also watched Premonition with Sandra Bullock. It wasn't too bad.
chesilbeach Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I watched Bridesmaids again yesterday. I'm finding that after the first viewing, the in your face comedy elements aren't funny for me anymore, but I absolutely love all the scenes where Chris O'Dowd is on screen.
Peacefield Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I saw Serpico for the first time the other night and loved it. I've discovered that there are way too many gritty 70's police movies that I haven't seen so am rectifying it. Al Pacino was great in this one . I also rewatched Thor, Adventureland and last weekend went with a friend to see Snow White & the Huntsman. It was okay. I liked parts of it, mostly the special effects, and loved Chris Hemsworth. I don't have anything personal against Kristen Stewart (well, maybe a little ) but Hemsworth out-acted her to the very end.
bobblybear Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Crazy, Stupid, Love. Thought it was great, with just the right mix of serious and comedy.
Timstar Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 saw 1911 Revolution, a Chinese film made last year to commemorate the centenary. It is also Jackie Chan's 100th film.
Coffin Nail Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Dinner for Schmucks. Not on the worst list, but not on the best list either.
