Ah ....that's right. He took over Darlington Hall and Mr Stevens kept working for him. He was American and wanted Mr Stevens to show him the ropes ....I think  He didn't strike me as being particularly Christopher Reevesy, if you get what I mean, sign of a good actor.

either that or you've presented me with a great excuse to read the book again

Re-reads don't count towards the 'read three, buy one' challenge remember!

They do if you read them before from the library and then bought your own copy to put on Mount TBR, so ner ner ner ner ner!

Me, do something so dastardly? Never! (Honestly - I mentioned the above in the 3/1 thread, I'm sure I did). If it makes you feel better, the book I'm on just now is over 900 pages long so I won't be buying any more books anytime soon at this rate.

But it's about Henry VIII, who, in an effort to get this back on topic, is one of my favourite characters. He was real, sure enough, but he does feature in a lot of books so he's still a 'character' to me.

Yes you did mention it. I'm just stirrin' ya!

I debated about whether or not to put Bill Bryson down as a favourite character. I love to read about his travels and viewpoints and he certainly is a 'character' (as in 'funny' and 'interesting', according to the dictionary).

My favourite characters ever...

Maerad and Cadvan from the Pellinor series

Sabriel and Touchstone (I've forgotten the latter's real name...yay! Excuse to re-read the Abhorson series!

drat! longer TBR list!

I used to keep my TBR list in my head, but my friends keep recommending stuff so now I have it written in the notepad widget on my desktop)

I'm sure I have loads more but I can't think of anyone else right now.

My friends are all obsessed with Edward Cullen from the Twilight series, but I don't see it myself
