JudyB Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Are you enjoying The Mammoth Cheese Gyre, I still have it on loan from the library but have lacked reading time recently so haven't got round to reading it yet. Quote
Weave Posted March 26, 2007 Author Posted March 26, 2007 I finished 'The Mammoth Cheese', it was a really good read, I enjoyed it, it was a lovely story but at the same time, almost surreal. Quote
Weave Posted March 28, 2007 Author Posted March 28, 2007 Just getting into 'The Robber Bride' by Margaret Atwood, a bit off topic, but my concentration levels are not great at the moment, although reading does help. I really enjoy Margaret Atwood's style of writing, it is incredibly straightforward and clear, she has something to say and she says it. Quote
pontalba Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 I've only read one Atwood...The Handmaiden's Tale, and I was not keen on it, but Robber is in my stack, and I'll read it down the road. Quote

Liz Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 I think I'll give This Book... a try - sounds to be good. Trouble is, I haven't really been getting much reading done - I've got several plays and a book of poetry to read for English Lit. and revision for the other subjects to do, so books have been placed second for a little while. And there's so many I want to read. Quote
Weave Posted April 19, 2007 Author Posted April 19, 2007 I finished 'The Robber Bride' by Margaret Atwood, it was a brilliant read, review soon to follow. Quote
Polka Dot Rock Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Glad you enjoyed it Paula It's a cracker isn't it? I like how Margaret Atwood seems to be a deceptively 'cuddly' writer, yet her books are actually very dark! Quote
