Brida Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Brida is the title of a book by Paulo Coelho, and I wanted my username to be the name of a character from a book I liked Quote
SandMan Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Well, I chose my username in honour of the protagonist of my favourite graphic novel series (alright, comic book) - the Sand Man, by Neil Gaiman. Thumping good read, although at a tenner a go, its a costly addiction. Quote
Escargot Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 For five years i learned french at school. Escargot is the one word, that i'll never forget - just in case i'd travel to france and have to order something in a restaurant. It's important to know, what you DON'T want to order Quote
book-worm Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 (edited) I was inspired by books. Edited July 6, 2010 by Nici Quote

smilerbabeuk Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I really need to change mine. its after an ex-boyfriend whose nickname was smiler - hence smiler(s)babe. I added the uk since the email I set up with the name was taken. I still have that email and I use smilerbabeuk everywhere even though I have been married for nearly 8 years to someone other than smiler. my husband doesn't know where it came from and most people assume its to do with smiling a lot. I can get away with it until someone asks.... trouble is, what to use instead??! Quote
Hyzenthlay Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) It's from a book I love called Watership Down. Hyzenthlay is sort of the heroine. I want to be a heroine, too! Edited February 15, 2011 by Hyzenthlay Quote
ToniLianne Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Mine is just my first and middle name put together, not very original but I'm not great at making up cool usernames so I just use my real one Quote
nursenblack Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Mine is a combo of my occupation and the color uniform I have to wear. Quote
Chrissy Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Mine is a combo of my occupation and the color uniform I have to wear. In which case mine would be baker'sassblackandblue! I was actually pondering today how your name came about. Quote
Janet Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Mine would be DotcomHomeShoppernRednBlue! Black strikes me as an unusual colour for a nurse's uniform. Quote
no-1-book-fan Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 I think most people can guess mine. It's just that I'm a huge fan of books, as big as they come, hence the "no-1-book-fan"! Quote
oceansoul Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Oceansoul is a song by Nightwish. Here's the lyrics: One more night To bear this nightmare What more do I have to say Crying for me was never worth a tear My lonely soul is only filled with fear Long hours of loneliness Between me and the sea Losing emotion Finding devotion Should I dress in white and search the sea As I always wished to be - one with the waves Ocean Soul Walking the tide line I hear your name Is angels whispering Something so beautiful it hurts I only wished to become something beautiful Through my music, through my silent devotion. Kasei Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 My real name is Kasey...I just did a vowel swap. Because I'm just that creative. Okay, if you want to get technical its a screen name I've used since middle school (age 13) because I was, once upon a time, very interested in Japanese animation and in swapping the vowels my name became the Japanese word for Mars. I've always wanted to be the first person to live on Mars so the name seemed appropriate. It was also the name I gave to the main character of many stories I would write back in those days. A character who was, not surprisingly, a virtual replica of myself at whatever age I happened to be at the time of writing. Kind of an embarrassingly nerdy story, actually. Quote
Habeebi Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Mine means sweetheart in Arabic! I used to live in oman and my ex used to call me that haha! Quote
Amesy Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Ames was my nickname in college, which started as a bit of a wee-take because I said or did something a bit retartedn(I can't remember what it was) and I actually liked it compared to James... it seems to roll off the tongue better. My current friends all call me Amesy now as well. Quote
