scottishbookworm Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 has anyone read any of louise bagshawe's books? I've just started her latest title called "Sparkles" :groupdance: :star: Quote
Icecream Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Sounds interesting. what is it like?? Quote
scottishbookworm Posted September 3, 2006 Author Posted September 3, 2006 it's good full of glitz and glamour not in the same sort of lines as a jackie collins or jilly cooper book. this is what it's about. details below The glittering fortunes of the Massot family, vastly wealthy owners of one of the last great jewellery firms in Paris, were plunged into confusion seven years ago by the disappearance of Pierre Massot, it Quote
Leetid Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I have read all of Louise Bagshawe's books and they are all good. Some of titles are as follows: The Movie Tuesday's Child Monday's Child Venus Envy Tall Poppies When She Was Bad They are worth a look at. Quote
Guest Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 I've read most of her books, up to Monday's Child. That was when I started going off her. But I see her sister's got in on the writing game too; I recently bought 'Do Not Disturb'. I have a couple of Bagshawe sisters' books sitting on Mount TBR and I'll get around to them someday. I followed Louise's writing since book one; I don't know what made me buy Career Girls, but I enjoyed it, read it more than once. I enjoy discovering a first-time author and following their career - it makes me feel all "Ner ner ner ner ner, I knew her before you!" (Similar to how I was with Marian Keyes when she was 'new'). LB's books got a bit samey though, and seemed to drag on a bit. Once she dropped the sex I realised there was little in her novels to entertain! Quote
Leetid Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I have noticed in her latest books she is writing more so the books are longer and seem to drag but I still find them a good read and will carry on buying her books. Quote
Guest Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I think she's taken out a lot of the bonking because she works in the Conservative Party now and is trying to be more respectable, because Tories never have sex. Quote
Leetid Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 There was a bit of sex in Glamour which is her last one and she has got one called Glitz coming out on hardback soon. Quote
Leetid Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Just finished reading Glitz and it is another good book by Louise Bagshawe. You can tell that she had toned down her writing as the book is different to the rest - no sex scenes! Quote
kelly2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I've just read 'Mondays Child' and I did enjoy it, I have another one of hers which I will read soon Quote
Kate Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I don't think I've heard of her...will have to keep my eyes open Quote
Paige Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I've read Tuesday's Child and I wasn't all that impressed. I doubt I'll read any more of her books. Quote
twinkle Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I've read most of her books. They're good to wind down with but didn't think Sparkles was up to her usual standard. I struggled with that one which I don't usually do with her books. Quote
Nici Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I struggled with Sparkles as well and like you Twinkle normally I love her books. Quote
Stephanie2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 I have read Glamour and really enjoyed it. I bought Glitz a few weeks ago because I knew her name. I'm looking forward to reading this Quote
scottishbookworm Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 I struggled with Sparkles as well and like you Twinkle normally I love her books. Me too! Quote
petit_canard25 Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I have only read Career Girls. It wasn't that bad of a novel. I thought it was very vulgal. Quote
Karen1 Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I've got Glitz and a few of her other ones in my TBR pile waiting to be read ... although some of them have been there a while. Quote
