I have had one of the busiest weeks ever so my reading was definitely sub-par. I did manage a page or two this morning whilst waiting for the coffee maker though :smile2:. Hopefully I'll get at least halfway this weekend, which is my goal.

Dimitra, I hope you like the Salinger! It has always been one of my favorites and I hope everyone can one day read it . True greatness lies in that one, at least in my eyes.

Finished the second section of The Fatal Englishman and started the third. Enjoyed the second section more than the first but still am not that impressed.

It has a been a great few days for me book wise. I have got:

Harlan Coben: Just One Look & The Final Detail

Elizabeth Chadwick: A Place Beyond Courage

John Hart: Down River

Tami Hoeg: Lucky's Lady

Alan Titchmarsh: Animal Instincts and The Last Lighthouse Keeper

Sharon Owens: Revenge of the Wedding Planner

Lauren Weisberger: Chasing Harry Winston

Some were given to me, others purchased at a very cheap price. My favourite buy however was a very old (probably 1920s) version of Little Women for

I just started reading The Strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by robert L. Stevenson .

The book is fairly thin so by tomorrow I will be finished with it.

I finished Brighton Rock last night, which was really good, and now I'm going to start The Catcher In The Rye by J.D.Salinger.

I loved The Catcher In The Rye! Hope you enjoy it

I'm carrying on with The 6 Wives of Henry VIII which so far is really good. I reall enjoyed the introduction to it as it gives a general overview of what society was like in the 16th Century......you know, they thought that education was wasted on women as all we'd do with the skill was sit around writing love letters all day. Heeeesh! :smile2:

Not done much reading but after finally figuring out what I wanted to read I started Dexter By Design... Again.

What a fantastic book. I woke up real early this morning, like normal and just grabbed a coffee and read. My mojo finally arrived in the States. :smile2:

Great book, better than the last few. should be finished fairly soon depending on if my OH goes to watch some football game or something.

I've just started The Blotting Book by E. F. Benson, but it is an e-book so I feel it may take a while to read

I'm about 540 pages into The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear, with less than 200 to go. I'm hoping to get it finished tomorrow.

I visited a couple of second-hand bookshops on the weekend and bought:

A Tree of Night and Other Stories by Truman Capote

Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow by Peter H

Thanks Frankie! I'll go into Miss Jean Brodie with an open mind (and low expectations; that way I won't be disappointed).

So here's a big problem, I'm really not enjoying this book. I've only read like 30 pages (the book has 88 pages) but I don't think I can continue:irked:.

Should I drop it? Should I continue?

Sadly I am only on page 133 of The Lost Symbol! This weekend has flown by in record speed and when I got home from my shopping outing today I saw it sitting there but I picked up New Moon instead since I want to read it quick before Friday. Sorry, Dan, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! :smile2:

I'm going so well with The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear that I plan on finishing tonight, which will be 190 pages in one day.

I got another book in the mail today:

The Complete Pebble Mosaic Handbook by Maggy Howarth

I've never tried pebble mosaics before and I wasn't sure what to expect from the book, but having flicked through it, I'm very pleased with my purchase. It's an awesome book and there are heaps are wonderful ideas in there. I can't wait to start planning a pebble mosaic for my courtyard. :smile2:
