I fell asleep through all of the Lord of the Rings films. Those films are straight garbage.

:D:lol::D:blush:

I've never walked out of a film, but I do remember to being one of the few people in the whole cinema who did stay to the end of one notorious film.....late 70s........any guesses?

Good guess, but I'm not that brave :blush: think more 'depravity'.......maybe I shouldn't be owning up to this? (but it was on mainstream release, not a dodgy back-street cinema!)

Is it The Devils?, maybe not, it came out in 1971 :P

The only ones I can think of are cannibal Holocaust ( which I think might have been the early 80's and I don't think it was shown inthe Uk. The only other one that I can think of that caused that much uproar was Deepthroat. I am sure there are others though. I thought of the Exorcist also.

and the prize goes to catwoman! Yes it was Caligula.

I remember there was a campaign to get it withdrawn - locally at least.

Should I be ashamed? :blush:

No no need to be ashamed. If I am right it was banned becuase it contained scenes of real sex. some type of playboy magazine owner who helped fund it said there was not enough sex and if the story is right added porn into it. I remember Helen saying that the new version was 1 hour short due to all the take outs. CRIKEY!!!!:P

I might be totally and utter wrong though.

I'm not ashamed, just wondered if I should be :blush:

That's a lot to cut out!

Janet - Shame about Dorian, I think I;ll give it a miss.

I will be honest. I google it this morning as I could not believe that there could have been so many sex scenes to cut out and IT'S TRUE! Cor Blimey! No wonder some people wanted it banned :P

I don't agree with banning films. If you feel uncomfortable about a film, don't watch it, simple as that. By banning it, is like you're trying to impose your opinion on others. Besides, some films that were banned at their time, are now considered to be classic, like A Clockwork Orange or The Last Tango In Paris (eager to see both of them)
