Louiseog Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Had some Blue Nun today. Had not tasted that for ages. What was it like? Same here, rmember it being very sickly? (Usually because it was warm) Quote
Maureen Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 liked it actually. Light, crispy and fruity. Quote
Maureen Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 yep, do try again. try it chilled this time Quote
Lilywhite Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Still haven't worked my way through half the wine we brought home for christmas. Definately trying though. Quote
dogmatix Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 I've never had Blue Nun but I have a memory from my childhood of my mom and her best girlfriend drinking an entire bottle one weekend aroud a campfire while we were all on a "girls only" camp out. It was around 1977 and boy did they have a good time! Does it still have the handle right in the glass of the neck and a screw top? Quote
Maureen Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 tried another German wine today...Have to copy out the whole name as I cannot read it...Domgarten Niersteiner Gutes Domtal. Anyway I enjoyed the wine! Will definately buy it again. Quote
Lilywhite Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 I have been enjoying a lovely white called falling star that I got for xmas. I was a bit dubious as it had a screw cap but was pleasantly suprised. It's dry but not too much but it has a sweet side to it too. Very easy to drink though Quote
Louiseog Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Lots of wines have screw caps now, apparantly (according to tesco wine club) it keeps it better than cork. i would rather have a screw top than those awful synthetic corks! Quote
madcow Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Got a nice bottle of muscadet chillin in the fridge ready to start as soon as I've dropped my son and his friends off in town Quote
