Lucybird Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 I just counted all the books on my TBR, including the ones I'm borrowing off family members. The count is only 5 which isn't too bad, but longer than I normally have Quote
Chrissy Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Every time I read the title of this thread I visualise a very stern looking woman with a pinched expression, glasses at the end of her nose, a severe hair style, black official looking clothes and a clip board looking disgusted at my book collection! This can't be healthy! Quote
Jaelk Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Due to problems with depression and drinking, I haven't been reading for the last few years but was still buying and collecting books that appealed to me. Now that I've turned the corner I suddenly find that I have a lot of books, classics and new novels that I can't wait to get stuck into. A rough estimate would be around 120 books in my TBR pile . Most of these I have had years and never read them. And due to the discovery of this forum, I am branching out to new genres so I can see my TBR pile increasing. Quote

carm Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I have at least 45 in my locker and desk at my office and I have just simply stopped counting the ones at home Quote

Lucybird Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Is that it? You must have a lot of self control! More lack of funds! I was buying more when I was working but didn't usually have a pile of more than 3, I would buy them in the 3 for 2 offer at waterstones, read them then buy more. I have 2 others I'm waiting to receive though Quote
France Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Pile? Who can fit their TBR books into a measely pile? I've got a bookcase. When we moved recently I packed all my TBR books in separate packing cases. Four of them. Quote
leah86 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Oh I'm a bit of an obbsessive..I have to read my TBR pile in the order I acquired them..Couldn't possibly deviate from that! Quote
BookBee8 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Oh I'm a bit of an obbsessive..I have to read my TBR pile in the order I acquired them..Couldn't possibly deviate from that! Ooh, I could never do that! I've had some of my older books for years that I still haven't read because they just don't appeal. Quote
leah86 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I wish i was like that because quite often I'll look at the pile and think I want to read that one now! Can't bring myself to do it! Quote
