Guest ii Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 The Interpreter, Good Night and Good Luck, Memoirs of a Geisha, Pleasantville. And decorating shows on TV. Quote
Guest ii Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Pleasantville. Excellent film! Very much under-valued. And the outfits are amazing! Quote
Roland Butter Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Bridget Jones' Diary in our house. Not my personal choice, but I have to admit the "fight scene" is classic! Quote
Mia Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I'm working my way through all seven series in order and I just finished series 4 last night. I love the humour, the great dialogue and the drama, plus... ...just love watching girls kick butt! And did I mention Spike? Quote
Ruth Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 10 Things I Hate About You Starman The Big Lebowski Brokeback Mountain Edward Scissorhands Frankie and Johnny Any of those will do the trick. Another of my absolute favourite movies is 21 Grams - I adore that film, but I wouldn't call it a comfort DVD...it's just so intense! Quote
BookBee8 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Bridget Jones' Diary in our house. Not my personal choice, but I have to admit the "fight scene" is classic! Is that in the first or the second film? Granted, they're both hilarious! I like watching that too. Anything chick flicky Quote
Nici Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Anything with Hugh Grant in but especially Nottinghill and Love Actually. No matter how many times I watch them, they always makes me happy! Quote
Nollaig Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Bridget Jones is epic. Its just absolutely hilarious. I must watch it again actually. Quote
Guest ii Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Is it a Brit thing, 'cause I found her mostly annoying? Quote
Nollaig Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 It is very British humor. Which I adore. All Hugh Grant things I love. Quote
frankie Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 (edited) Is it a Brit thing, 'cause I found her mostly annoying? Nope, not just a Brit thing As for me, I'd watch The Gilmore Girls. Or Persuasion. Edited February 2, 2009 by frankie Quote

Nollaig Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I recently saw him in.... god what was it... he was *very* young.. He was with a girl who wanted to settle down/have a baby, but Hugh was very easy going and was like, 'I can't sell my two-seater for a family car!!!' Quote
Stephanie2008 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I love Nine Months - it's a great feel good movie Quote
Raven Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I'm working my way through all seven series in order and I just finished series 4 last night. I have series one to five of Angel to watch at some point (still not seen series four and five yet . . .), but they are in a queue of 17 different TV series I have on my to-watch DVD list! And did I mention Spike? Have you seen the Smallville and Torchwood episodes Masters was in? WRT Hugh Grant, I can't see what all the fuss is about, he plays the same role in every film - awkward middle class fop! Quote
lexiepiper Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Probably my Alias or Grey's Anatomy series, couldn't choose a specific film, I have around 200 on DVD, so have one to match all moods Quote
Kylie Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Pleasantville. Excellent film! Very much under-valued. And the outfits are amazing! I was just thinking yesterday how I love that movie and it's far too under-rated As for me, I'd watch The Gilmore Girls. Or Persuasion. I only just saw this thread for the first time and I was looking out for your Gilmore Girls post, Frankie And I heartily agree. Gilmore Girls every time for me, with a bit of That 70s Show thrown in as well. Quote

Have you seen the Smallville and Torchwood episodes Masters was in? Funny you should mention Angel... I just bought the complete box set last week!! That's for when I finish Buffy. I saw James Masters in Torchwood - very Spike-ish. I've never seen any Smallwood though. Was his character in that much different to Spike/Captain John? Quote
Raven Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I saw James Masters in Torchwood - very Spike-ish. I've never seen any Smallwood though. Was his character in that much different to Spike/Captain John? He played it a bit straighter (no pun intended) than he did in Torchwood and Buffy/Angel. Quote
Guest ii Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Gilmore Girls every time for me, with a bit of That 70s Show thrown in as well. Don't forget Will&Grace. If for Karen alone, it's always a pick-me-up. I absolutely love Karen. The party-mix joke is legendary in my circle. Oooh, and Coupling, the UK version. (the US one was horrible!) Quote
